As someone with a 1st Generation iPhone SE that's deal with a one-hour battery life, I know that feel.

I almost broke down and bought a 2nd Generation iPhone SE to hold me over, but we're less than two weeks away from an announcement, so I gotta stay strong.

Ouch, well, at least you can still use it if you need to. The problem is I probably will lean towards the 6.1 Pro....which is possibly over a month away, ouch.

Oh man, I just realized as an Apple Card holder I no longer have access to my physical card number... this is going to be a major pain in the.... so glad I completely tied myself into Apple's ecosystem *snark*

If this is true, then it is likely the iPhone 12 mini have a base price of $649. The 128GB will be $699 and the 256GB will be $799. The iPhone 12 will be $749, $799, $899. The iPhone 12 mini with 128GB storage likely will be the same price as the iPhone 11 64GB. My guess is folks complaining here would have been happy with that if there were no 64GB model.

They didn’t say only one location, just not on their iPhone. For all you know, it’s also sitting on a Mac at home.

My iPhone and iPad don’t store all my photos - that would be needlessly wasteful - they’re essentially cached on those devices, using iCloud.

Oh, but my Mac has all the photos, and it’s backed up to Time Machine (locally), and SuperDuper (locally, sometimes offsite), and BackBlaze, and AWS (via Arq). That sounds like more copies than you.
Interesting perspective. I view my iPhone and iPad as part of my backup plan. So my Mac is just backed up locally to time machine, but I also have full copies of all my photos and documents on both my iPad and iPhone. Plus iCloud.

I think the question should be, is there any point in getting the Pro.

I’m sorry but Apple have failed to make any convincing argument about the benefits of Lidar with the last iPad Pro.

120hz pro-motion is out the window too.

as somebody who isn’t getting the max model , what’s the £100’s extra for? A telephoto lens?

would love to know everybody’s thoughts. Based on what we know so far (which I concede is rumour), what is drawing you to the Pro model?

One thing for me, coming from the iPhone X is the durability of the stainless steel versus aluminum but I really need to see them both and compare or see some reviews before deciding.

Why not just stream Apple Music?

I’d be willing to bet you don’t listen to most of that music most of the time and/or haven’t listened to it in years.
Some of us prefer to have all of their music on hand, so we can listen to whatever, whenever. (That's why I carry my Classic iPod 160GB everywhere I go. I put it on Shuffle and it's better than any radio station.)
Also, some of us may not have constant access to a reliable internet source for streaming.

I store no media on my iPhone. I stream everything and all my pics are neatly organized in Dropbox. 64 GB is more than enough. Some of you need to rethink how you save your media on your iPhone.
That's all well and good until there's a server issue or you're in a deadzone and need access to a photo or file.

I also like having plenty of podcasts and music available on my phone for commuting/travel/etc so I don't burn through my battery and data plan by constantly streaming.

I have a 128GB phone with about 87GB used so far. I could probably get down to 64 if I had to, but it would take a lot more hands-on managing of my files.

I mean how often are you going to find yourself in such a scenario honestly??

I don't think streaming music or podcasts is going to burn battery. That's more reserved for video.

Personally I have unlimited data. Feel like more and more people do too.

Fairly regularly in my experience, whether it's a rural area or just a ****** part of town for reception or a big building or a network outage/overload.

And beyond that, it straight up costs me less to just get the larger (not even the largest) model than it would to continue to pay for unlimited data each month.

I still stream the odd song or file, but at least this way I have most of what I want with me. It just makes sense.

64GB is perfect. Focus storage prices towards things like the OLED display or better battery tech.

March forward Apple and don’t look back.

Goodness me man, it’s great that you have unlimited data and a reliable network, but news flash, you and your usages aren’t the world 😂 If people need more storage let em have it?

And we still wonder why apple is a trillion dollar company lol, tim apple is one smart cookie... smaller battery, no 120 hz or 90 hz screen, 64 gb of storage, poor notifications management, macbook pros with 8th gen intel chips, ddr3 ram .... sometimes I wonder why I still buy apple products.

Wrong, I listen to it everyday. There all my own CDs and LPs (records) I ripped myself and created my own album artwork.

Never said otherwise. But unlimited data is becoming very widespread. And honestly my bigger point is that people store too much media that they don’t need on their devices. Hence the growing complaints that people have to keep upgrading their iCloud monthly plans because they keep all their photos and videos on their device.

I accept your bigger point 😊 most of us could do with better file management for both better storage efficiency as well as general wellbeing.

Unlimited data may be widespread in the US; not too sure about other countries. I still see plenty of data cap comments from YouTube commenters from all over the world. Then there’s people like me who travel often. I won’t always have access to WiFi on the move depending on the country I’m in, and I’m not going to stream hi-res music over my pocket global Wi-Fi device. Anyway, nice to see a reasonable response 👍🏻

personally, I"m in the other users boat as well. I want about 60 gig's offline. A listen to a wide range of chill step mixes I've ripped from other sources that aren't on apple music, and I often go places (like parks to get work done on a park bench) without a good wifi signal. Yeah, I could download for offline mode, but between that and soundtracks its nice to have it just on device. and I do cycle through it.

I'm in for a 12 (6.1) with 256 gigs. I'm upgrading from an iPhone 6s+ I've had since launch week. A good run, and looking forward to having this phone for at (least) 3 years.

That’s impressive and yet another positive experience of the iPhone’s longevity. How many batteries did you go through and what is your 6s+’s (gosh that reads strange) storage size?
