What will 6GB of RAM do to improve the experience of iOS?

And what will be negatively affected for having less than 6GB of RAM?

120Hz and smaller notch or they can shove it 😄 I look forward to an upgrade but if I have to wait another year (for what I'm looking for), at least I get one more year with 3D Touch

Are we going to have these kind of comments on every unrelated post now? 😂 haha

IPHONE 12 WILL HAVE 6GB RAM
"No notch and 120hz or no buy!"

IPHONE 12 WILL HAVE NEW BLUE COLOR
"No notch and 120hz or no buy!"

APPLE IN DEVELOPMENT OF NEW CAR
"No notch and 130hz or no buy!!"

haha 😂

With an A14 processor and 6GB of RAM, it could replace a computer for light users if Apple wanted, but for that he would need to output at full 4K resolution to an external TV/display, have USB-C and multitasking capabilities.

Yeah, it's not. Unless you want all your apps closed after launching camera.app.

That has not happened to me on a 5se.

When I upgraded the RAM on my MacBook Pro, the standby batter drain increased. Could this be the same scenario with iPhone/iPad? If so maybe Apple limits the RAM quantity offered to increase the battery runtime?

Yes...this is a consistently annoying theme with most here, regardless of the fact that if ProMotion is not done correctly on the iPhone then battery life will be abysmal as it is over on the Android side. I could care less about the notch on my iPhone XR, but these users seem to be from a splinter sect of the No Bezels Cult, so I am not surprised. So much entitlement.

“If Apple doesn’t do X and X, I’m not buying!!!”

Newsflash hot shots...nobody, including Apple give a flying fat Fanny f***! You get what you get that Apple feels is their best product and then you take it or leave it.

Good. Apple needs to properly separate the high end, large display iPhones (i.e. 6.7") from the iPhones with tiny display (i.e. 5.4"). Those tiny screen iPhones don't need the best performance; it's so tiny that any good chip would be a waste as people can't even comfortably read the text and always need to squint.

Might be time for an eye appointment or to admit you are getting old and need reading glasses if you have to squint to use a 5.4" phone.

Only 2 cameras for the smaller iPhone 12?
Previous rumor said, every iPhone 12 will get 3 cameras...
No rumors have said that. They've said standard 12 models = 2 cameras; pro models = 3 cameras + Lidar sensor. There have been rumors that maybe only the pro max will get the lidar sensor, but most say that both pro models will get the sensor.

Honestly, I have the old iPhone SE, the iPhone 7 and the iPhone X. Apparently the X is light years ahead of the 7, and 7 is faster than the SE. I barely see a difference that is more than milliseconds.
RAM? My iPhone 7 opens many apps over20 safari pages and it moves quickly and swiftly without any issues. I use the camera and run all kinds of media apps like TikTok Instagram games etc no problems.
RAM is the thing that least excites me about the new iPhone. I just want a nice design good battery and amazing camera on the iPhone 12, 5.4inch.
I wish it was more $$ so it got all the features.

this will already have a redesign a la iPad Pro

The fact he said that proves what I've been seeing. If you place both the 11 and the new phone together they look the same, turn them to the side and all we get is that we went from rounded sides to a straight edge like the iPhone 5. It not a big difference to me to call it a redesign. They could change up the back of the phone. There is no need for camera humps if they just made the phone slightly thicker like the iPhone 5.

? These phones are already thicker than the iPhone 5

i'm kinda sad (and hopeful this phone lineup isn't going to be the case) because I want the Pro features without the ginormous display. I like the smaller form factor. i don't need a huge phone in my pocket.

Still fine with the 2GB on my current iPhone. Can’t imagine needing more than the 4GB on the non-pro models. But sure, why not. It’ll make some people happy.

thats why those of us in the know know that either 2021 or 2022’s iPhone is the REAL McCoy.
