I still think we’re gonna have a announcement date for iPhone in September since Apple said it’ll be “FEW WEEKS” late.

Also new iPhones/Apple watch will be released end of September and in the month of October they will release the PRO models.

In October it’ll be iPad’s and MAC’S event.

keep that in mind we have not seen any leaks for new iPads!
And what will you be buying?

I am not buying what John is selling. There is no way Apple will release the new Apple Watch separately much less press release.

I think John is looking for new channel subscriptions. He is one obnoxious person. I couldn’t make it through one of his videos. That was the first and last time I gave him any of my time.

Launch Watch 6 separately - I think it's entirely possible and logical.

If Watch 6 is ready to ship, why would Apple wait 30/60/90 days before shipping? Every day waiting is a lost sales opportunity and revenue.

The timeline is not ideal, but if iPhone 5G is delayed, what other option is there?

I don't believe the Apple Watch Series 6 is going to be announced via a press release. It will obviously run watchOS 7 that also needs iOS 14. The final version of iOS 14 obviously contains a lot of informations about the new iPhones. It makes no sense to release it before the event. Look what happened when the iOS 11 GM leaked even tho the iPhone X has only been released in November.

Plus it seems weird to launch new OS, Apple Watch and iPad via press releases rather than wait a few weeks for all the Apple Event hype and media coverage.
There’s no rule saying the new iPhones have the run 14.0. It can ship with 14.1, problem solved.

Valid point. It would be so unApple like. However, this current pandemic situation is unprecedented.

You may very well be right, JP. And if you are, I will say kudos.

I will probably take a watch next month if they do get released.

Any chance updated iPads would coincide with the back-to-school student promo running through September 29th and be released before then?

I'm very interested in what happens with the new iPads as the rumors have been sort of confusing there. If it truly was a press release I think that means we won't see the A14 in the iPad Air as they'll want to make a big deal of that chip. So that means A13 iPad Air and then probably A12 for the cheaper iPad (I'm assuming Apple doesn't like the A11).

Also the Apple Watch will likely get a speed boost and will be a more significant upgrade over the 5, so it again seems odd for no event.

I realize they probably won't invite people in person all things considered, but their WWDC stream was pretty great and I'd love to see more of that style.

Yea, the WWDC event was lot more enjoyable to watch than I thought it would be. Hopefully, it will be that way again.

Any product that would release in the fall via press release would likely be pretty lack luster...

Apple can always activate the 5G option later on.
