No interest in the Air Tags, but I am very interested in the update to the iPad Pro. Depending on what changes and improvements they make, I’ll either update my iPad Pro 12.9 2018 or pick up an M1 MBA instead.

You know, if you setup a YouTube channel and tweet about it - you might actually make MR headlinesProsser could say the moon is made of cheese, and MR is still going to give him free press about Apple products.
And then I could be famous for not being Jon Prosser. You know, if you setup a YouTube channel and tweet about it - you might actually make MR headlines![]()
Q4 always means next year.Leaker Jack Neil says Apple will release new products before Q4 2021.
If the rumors pan out to be true, think of them as tiny tracking devices that require no subscription. GPS trackers, pet trackers and many other kinds of long range trackers require subscriptions in order to track realtime on a map. Apple Tags are rumored to have long battery life but deliver GPS-like features by leveraging over 1 billion iOS devices already in use to ping back the location of the tag without that data being intercepted by anyone but the user. Of course Apple could always add them to their services category and charge a monthly subscription to unlock more features so who knows until they announce. Can someone explain to me why AirTags are so significant? I assume there are lots of great uses beyond “finding my lost keys,” but I’ve not heard them (and am apparently not imaginative enough to figure them out on my own).
Amazing!
Call it a hunch, but I suspect they will play into the whole Apple Glasses product strategy. AirTags, Apple QR codes, sign in with Apple, we just aren't seeing the entire big picture yet.Can someone explain to me why AirTags are so significant? I know Jon Prossner. and you my friend, are no Jon Prossner.MacRumors: "Prosser was wrong about this, wrong about that, wrong about this other thing, wrong about this date, bUT LeT'S hIGHLiGHt hIS cLAIms AGaiN!"
Must be a slow news day.
The network will be much bigger than the tile network, and these things are only as good as the network.
the network is simply the number of devices out there using the product.
when you understand this you’ll realize Tile has a larger market than yeh at you attest to now, or have your opinion on - as there is no devices yet in Apples. Tiles is now in 2 HP laptops and potentially more to come.
Now if we think about the network as a wireless connection medium, then still with GPS it’s still going to be smaller. That said I think as AirTags as a service and a wireless network used by existing devices that others see as just hosts or access points to detect a keychain or spot type tag. (iPhone 11, 12 series, larger if you think iPhone 7 & up use BT/WF low energy to emit their identity to help for FindMy to track then you have a HUGE network that overtakes any competitor. My thought/opinion here is that devices are not hosts.
that said of all the rumours there is not much more of a benefit to what Apple is to offer vs what is already being done by the competition. The last time Apple thought their network for new product category that would be better than the comp. “Ping”
PS I just thought you may think I’m downplaying your opinion, not my intension and I’m not (from direct thought). I’m intrigued by it and a way to challenge it.
Cheers
