Got a question for the group. If the iPhone 12 line does go back to the boxier design (like iPad Pro and iPhone 4-5S) do you think they’ll go back to the 5s style leather case being closed on the bottom? Or do you think they’ll stick with the open bottom leather case they’ve used since the 6?

Since it looks like gestures are here to stay with the 12, the bottom will more than likely stay with the open design. I think that’s why Apple started making their cases with the exposed bottom. “To not interfere with gesture controls”, if I remember correctly.

I really need to put my saddle brown case back on after looking at some of these photos. I always seem to go back to black but I'm going to force my self to work the brown in until its got a great patina.

I love the black leather over the saddle brown leather BUT... a darkened naturally patina’d saddle brown? Ooof, very tough because they both go well with any colored iPhone.

Got a black leather folio yesterday for my 11 pro, leather seems nicer than my black leather case, it's a bit sticky which gives good grip but the folio has a more premium feel to it.
Got it bit over half off retail too new. Really like it had one for the X too.

there are not a lot of gestures on the iphone 6/6s/7/8/SE2

Looks like fake one.

It’s definitely real. I bought it directly from Apple. I just don’t use my iPhone as much, so the patina never breaks in as fast as I’d like.

Edit: definitely looks a bit light in the photo, but it’s much darker in person like the one just posted after mine.

Here’s mine. Still not sure about how it goes with the midnight green though?

looks great with the midnight green! I had a 11 pro max in gold and had a saddle brown case for it as well, but I preferred this one over it.

I have been using the saddle brown for 2 weeks... it’s getting a lot of uneven dark spots. Is there any way to fix this? Of will this even out overtime?

It should even out with time. From my experience, and ruining two saddle brown cases, it’s best to leave it alone and let it do it’s thing.

i’m currently laying it in the sun to darken out. Is this ok? Or will this make the difference between those spots even bigger?

It should be fine. The sun will help it along with evening out the dark spots. From my understanding, the sun will dry the leather out which is when it will start to absorb the oils from your hands a bit quicker.

I purchased the black leather case a few days ago. Since I'm working from home currently, I felt the Otterbox Symmetry was just too much when I'm just sitting in the house all day. So once I'm back in the office, I'll start to phase it into my daily use.

I've noticed the leather on the black leather case is extremely soft. It doesn't take much to make an imprint and leave a mark on the case. Like I can press my fingernail in it, and it'll leave a small dent in the leather. However, the leather on the brown case is much firmer, and takes more effort to leave a mark.

I’ve noticed this exact same thing and the black case has much more grip than any of my leather cases. I really like the look, I just wish it showed more flaws and character with use.

Yes my black one is the same and It feels sticky, my Black leather folio is much nicer and feels more premium. I also use the Black OB Symmetry for work.
I only buy cases now that i know have excellent buttons.

sometimes I like using the Otterbox symmetry even at home because it feels like such a robust and high quality case—even if it’s just rubber and plastic. It’s like they used higher quality plastics and TPU than most other manufacturers

I’ve noticed this even on a nomad case. The black seems softer more supple than the brown. It must have to do with the dying of the leather
