I purchased the "Golden Brown" case for my 13 Pro after previously using the Saddle Brown case on my X and XS. Like many others here, I was disappointed in the color to say the least. It was too orange for my taste. So, I decided to remove the coating with alcohol wipe and apply Duragloss 221 based on others' recommendations in this thread.

It doesn't come across well in photos, but the end result is worlds better than the original finish imo. Will update on how it looks after a period of regular use.

Received my nomad rustic brown today for my 13PM. People aren’t kidding when they said it’s so easily dinged and scratched. I barely did anything and it already has scars. I really wish it was all leather but I’ll see if I can adapt to the hybrid case.

Just received my andar case. It feels very dry and very very slippery, not sure how I like it so far. Im
Not sure if they used different leather between the 12 and the 13? Because it looks a little different than what I’m seeing for the 13’s

On my 12P andar case, the slipperiness went away after about a day. I don't remember if it was dry as I rubbed conditioner on it immediately. The texture is definitely different compared to some of the posted photos of iphone 13 andar cases. The texture on the andar wallet matches that of the 13 cases photos and very different to my case.

How old is the case in this photo?

Day 1 of Bullstrap with day 45 of Nomad. Nomad is great for it's protection. Both serves very different purposes and will suit very different people.

I will recommend the BS to people who are very careful with their phone and have never dropped their phone. I would not feel confident with a BS as much as the Nomad. I will recommend the Nomad to the rest.

Also, had a very disappointing experience with BS. Ordered the case together with wallet and only the case arrived. Had issues with my previous refund till I had to file a Paypal dispute because BS mentioned it was already refunded but I didn't receive. After filing the PP dispute only they mentioned that it will be cleared soon.

I have to admit though, the BS does look better. But is it worth the hassle, price and less protective capability? I'm not sure. Depends on how well they age.

EDIT : also, the button feels on the BS is similar to the Apple Leather Case.

I agree. Personally I prefer the nomad as I prefer smooth leather. Bullstrap is great if Your very careful. after using the nomad I’m very hesitant going back to open bottom cases that’s why the nomad is now my daily driver. If I can manage to use my open bottom case enough to get a good patina I might use it more but nothing beats having a beautiful leather case that will confidently protect against drops

I have to completely agree. I've only dropped my 12PM three times. Once with the Nomad, and there wasn't a scratch. They other two times were with Bullstrap cases, and one gouged the bottom of the frame. The other time cracked the glass display. Personally I've moved on from Bullstrap for this reason. I'd rather have better protection, then the cleaner look.

That’s also the reason why i bought a Nomad leather case after “accidentally/ stupidity” dropped my iPhone with the Apple leather case. I should be receiving my Nomad today. curious about the easily scratched up leather.

My Nomad has 3 actual scratches on it, after over a year of use, if that helps. It does scratch fairly easily, however, it's no more scratchable then any other leather case. If you have leather oil, it's also pretty easy to blend scratches into the rest of the leather patina. I hardly notice mine at this point. Bullstrap uses Top Grain leather, where Nomad uses Full Grain, so technically, Bullstrap is easier to mark up, since it has the top protective layer removed.

Agreed, the nomad will show a lot of marks and scratches but most don’t last forever. My old iPhone 11 case used for a year only had a few scratches because it tends to almost self heal. Personally I really like the look along with the patina, it has good depth of color and sheen

Well, for the Apple leather cases for 13 Pro, I have some potentially bad news about the Wisteria colour case I’ve had for only just over one week.

The edges at each corner have started to darken. Interestingly, its not completely black like I’ve read what happened for the 12 Series cases, but this is instead rather a dark violet colour, as if its actually a natural patina… but then I find myself wishing the rest of the case would darken too like the 11 Series cases did, and not just the edges. Makes you wonder how can the rest of the case stay the same but not the edges.

Possibly a pity, because Wisteria is actually otherwise a really lovely colour. Wasn‘t one that was love at first sight, but rather grows on you - for sure, at the very minimum unless that one falls apart, the Wisteria MagSafe Wallet with FindMy is a keeper. And I would definitely not hesitate to get this colour if it were available for the Leather Link Apple Watch band instead of the dreaded Modern Buckle.

My Midnight Leather Case meanwhile is faring much better, the very dark colour of the case is hiding basically any sign of ageing and I’ve already had that one for some weeks longer.

That’s super weird. My wisteria hasn’t changed colour at all or worn on the edges and I’ve had it since October.

I definitely don’t think I got a dud case. I think it’s more like my fingers just seem to get oily quickly for some reason, my 11 Pro leather cases would patina also a little quicker than expected, but this would be the entire case and not just the edges.

Back to wisteria, return date is still January 8th for it. I’m holding onto it for now, will still use it almost daily as my case. If by January the ’edge Patina’ makes it look really hideous, then it’s going back for a refund. I otherwise love how the Wisteria case feels in my hand, the texture is so nice, and the colour itself - its such a fun and mellow purple.

You dropped your phone with the apple leather case…did your phone get damage? What happened to the Apple case itself?

Luckily. the drop is from my knee level to a rough flooring while seated. There's no damage to my phone, maybe because the drop is not at a higher height. There's some scuffs and scratches at the edges on my leather case after that. I feel if I have dropped it at a higher height, I'm sure the apple leather case will not protect my iPhone hence I took the $ plunge and bought myself the Nomad case.

A case, primarily purpose should be for protection... then aesthetic.

I bet that the apple leather case is more protective than all third party leather cases:
