Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

I would like to share the quality drop in Nomad's leather. On the left a brand new 13 pro Max Modern case. Compared to 2 y/o everyday used 11 pro Max Nomad, the new looks way worse. I take good care of the cases and I treat them with leather conditioners. I have over 20 Nomad products but this might be my last.
Lol, no quality drop same as always, the brown gets marked up easier.
This one scratches way too easily. No contact with sharp objects whatsoever. As I said I have other brown Nomad leather products (MacBook Pro case, AirTag key holder, Apple Watch strap, iPhone 11 case, wallet, .. you name it
) and this is subpar.It scratches and patina easily, isn’t it?
This is also the looks i’m looking for in a Horween leather. If it doesn’t patina like this, i will be disappointed..?
Well, for the Apple leather cases for 13 Pro, I have some potentially bad news about the Wisteria colour case I’ve had for only just over one week.
The edges at each corner have started to darken. Interestingly, its not completely black like I’ve read what happened for the 12 Series cases, but this is instead rather a dark violet colour, as if its actually a natural patina… but then I find myself wishing the rest of the case would darken too like the 11 Series cases did, and not just the edges. Makes you wonder how can the rest of the case stay the same but not the edges.
Possibly a pity, because Wisteria is actually otherwise a really lovely colour. Wasn‘t one that was love at first sight, but rather grows on you - for sure, at the very minimum unless that one falls apart, the Wisteria MagSafe Wallet with FindMy is a keeper. And I would definitely not hesitate to get this colour if it were available for the Leather Link Apple Watch band instead of the dreaded Modern Buckle.
My Midnight Leather Case meanwhile is faring much better, the very dark colour of the case is hiding basically any sign of ageing and I’ve already had that one for some weeks longer.

Wow... Great patina... the leather looks so nice...My iPhone X saddle brown case aged naturally and beautifully.
I want to continue the golden brown this year but not quite sure. Anyone with an aging golden brown case photo?
My experience is exactly the same. They may get more grippy, but that’s about it with mine.
You do realize not all leather will develop the exact same patina right? Now if horween leather patina is your preference, then what you mean is that nomad is the only phone case that will patina like horween leather does
That’s true. Everyone have their own preference on how they like their leather to look like after a while.
Those who like those perfect patina look with shades of gradient patina should look at this.. I’m sure they can do the same on leather cases too.
Bullstrap and Andar are both aniline leather and develop patina pretty much identically to Nomad’s Horween leather.
The biggest difference is the color they start off with.
Not at all a drop in quality, in fact it’s some of the highest quality leather you can buy on a phone case Horween makes amazing leather
Horween is arguably the best tannery in the world but like other tanneries they produce many grades of leather.
They make Shell Cordovan all the way down to the cheaper stuff they sell to Nike and Adidas.
The leather going on Nomad phone cases isn’t the same grade of stuff going in Alden boots or Ashland wallets.
My old iPhone X Nomad folio next to my Wolverine 1000 Mile boots made with Horween Chromexcel.
Zero comparison in leather quality.
The 1000 Miles have way more depth of color, better finish, more pull up.
Totally different class of leather.
