How does the Nomad case compare to the official leather case in your experience?

I understand that it's heavier and thicker, wondering how much it weighs exactly?

The leather feels and smells better. In years past, the buttons and the sharp cutouts on the bottom were dealbreakers for me but they’ve improved on both for the 13s. The two tone black/brown look has really grown on me and the black portion has a matte finish that feels very much like the leather.

If I had to come up with a complaint it would be the symmetrical cutouts.

Hey Bullstrap owners... any of you from Canada. If so how much did your case end up costing you after you paid for the case, shipping and duties. I feel like an already expensive case is just going to be too high to justify.

I'm really struggling to find a case. I had to replace my iPhone 12 with an 11 and there isn't a lot out there to choose from. The Bullstraps are beautiful but seriously overpriced. The Andar Marshall is the one I really want but can't find one anywhere. The Nomad and Bellroy are okay, but I'm not a fan of the leather only on the back. I've had good luck with Decoded but again, the shipping and duties make it ridiculous.

They are usually around $105 to order, plus shipping which ranges from $20 - $40 depending on if you want it to arrive in this lifetime or the next. Canada Customs will usually ding you another $30-50 on this depending on the courier so all in probably like $160ish? I can get the Bellroy for $49 Cdn but its got the rubber sides that I don't love. I might just have to get an American friend to buy a case for me and then mail it up to me.

So, I bought the golden brown leather case for my 13 Pro some 2 months ago… and I'm surprised to see that there seems to be no patina building up at all. With the Apple leather cases for older iPhones, the colours were usually turning dark pretty quckly — in my hands especially. This one seems just as bright now as when I first unboxed it.

This may have been already discussed in this massive topic before, so I'm sorry for possibly repeating the well-known… I'm just wondering whether anyone else is experiencing similar behaviour with the leather cases for these new iPhone generations.

Looking back at my golden brown case, to not patina would have been a better outcome. Unseats you’ll start seeing colour coming off like paint chipping away. Believe me when I say you really do not want that case to patina.

Thank you. Looking at it under direct sunlight, something similar may be starting on mine, too. Barely noticeable now… but some dark spots are emerging there in the corners.

I used mine toward this black AirTag clip, which just came yesterday. Next to it is my ~3.5 month old Bullstrap ocean case. It has darkened quite a bit, just from regular daily use, zero treatment.

Enzo is in. I like everything about it except….. the buttons. They are laughably loose and audibly rattle with a shake. What the hell, Spigen? I might be able to ignore it on a case a third of the price but damn, what a disappointment.

I don’t have anything to take photos as I ran home on my break and I’m back at work but I should be able to get a few up tonight.

Edit: Sent a message to Spigen to see what they have to say. If this is a feature and not a bug, it’s going back first thing tomorrow.

The loose buttons would be an absolute deal breaker for me too. Not acceptable. Bummer. Looks like for me, the Nomad is the top leather case!

I put some scotch tape on the inside of the buttons as a temporary hold-over. Seems to be doing the trick. Still unacceptable for a case this expensive.
