I've been lurking around this forum, reading at other's comments, and will now post for the first time the results with my case. Apple Golden Brown case for iPhone 13 after 3 months use. I took off almost all the coating after month 1. I first used alcohol (and sometimes oxygenated water) and rubbed with a cloth. The results were not great and it was taking me too long, so then I actually started using a Dremel and the soft cotton disc that comes with it. Soaking in alcohol and then putting against the leather in the lowest speed setting. Being careful not to damage the case and obviously taking off the phone from it. It became spotty but it worked to take off the coating. My last resource was to go buy 1000 and 2000 water sandpaper and uniformly sand around the areas that still had the orange coating, together with adding more alcohol so the coating would come off. I then let it dry and after a couple days of use the patina started to appear and it became shiny from where the hand grip is. I might have been too rough with the case bc the apple logo almost disappeared. Also, the buttons and trim around the camera still show the orange coating. However, I am very happy with the result and do not plan on buying any of the third party cases. As I prefer the fit of the Apple one and the fact that the case wraps and protects the bottom edge.
