100% worth it.

I also used to require that I had the case the moment I got the phone. Last year I waited for the Bullstrap, and ran the phone caseless for a month.

It wasn’t an issue and well worth the wait.
I too am tempted to cancel and get the Andar but I've heard so many good things about the Bullstrap that I'm going to wait it out.

That’s where I am at. Never tried them and if it’s all everyone says it’s cracked up to be it will be worth it and be glad I waited.

Regarding the fact that

Andar = Full grain
Bullstrap = Top grain

Has anybody had both? I’d like to know your impressions regarding the leather quality and patina.

(A year ago, on this thread, I remember someone saying the way andar wraps the leather around the corners of the case was not great. My Bullstrap nailed this part)

Been lurking this thread for a few years now. Finally made an account to share a +1000 for the BullStrap. I was skeptical at first, the website seemed shady but I initially got one on my 12 pro max. It's so thick and soft and ages so well. I passed on getting one for the 13 as they hiked up the prices, but after using apple and andars version I just want to go back to the BullStrap this year. It feels so much more premium in hand.

Anyway, my reason for posting is I for the life of me could not find a referral code online to get 20% off, I tried signing up myself, VPN, etc. but the system is crazy smart LOL. As far as I can tell they don't have any other discounts. I just bought one, but if anyone needs a 20% off code PM me. It brings the price back down closer to what apple charges.

Here's a photo of my proud patina after and before applying Saphir renovateur. (9 months)

It’s not an issue.

I thought the same before purchase. After owning one for a year, having an open bottom has no downsides that I can see.
It is an issue for me...that's why I said it. I have owned a Bullstrap before. I didn't know the bottom was out because the older pictures obscured that fact. I don't like the bottom being open. I love the case and if they ever fully surround the phone like Apple's cases, then I will purchase one.

Cutout aside, would you say the leather quality is superior to Apples? For me, the open bottom isn’t an issue as I actually prefer it.

I also prefer the open bottom and for me its not an issue, but I understand people who are used to full cover. About leather quality, in my opinion Apple is just trash, no sign of patina, no actual smell of leather. I have tried a lot of brands, Apple, Andar, Bullstrap, Nomad, etc. Bullstrap is quality. Also their lifetime warranty is a thing to think about when spending so much money. If you have your phone maybe for 2-3 years, you are covered for the whole time with a single purchase. After a year, you can just ask for a new case due to cosmetic issues for example...

How protective is the Bullstrap case from drops? I'm debating whether to buy the Bullstrap case or the Nomad Modern case. The Nomad case has 10' drop protection.

Oh, yes, definitely. The quality is outstanding. The smell is divine. The case I purchased is still in use...I gave it to my wife for her phone. She doesn't mind. I do mind, though. If Apple cases had the Bullstrap leather quality, it would be perfect.

Curious — Why don’t you like the bottom be open?

Bullstrap won’t protect from a 10’ drop, but I can’t think of any scenario where I would drop my phone that far.

That said, the case is protective enough for day-to-day scenarios. And once the drop occurs, and the case is scuffed beyond repair, you can get a replacement free from Bullstrap.

Also, if anybody wants 20% off Bullstrap, use this code

Does that mean Andar uses better leather? Full grain is better than top grain, no?

I don't like that there is no protection for the bottom of the phone and it doesn't look symmetrical, which aggravates my OCD. Again, it is my personal preference and reasons, which might seem trivial to most, but are very important to me.

Full grain is better than top grain. But from what I've seen Bullstrap has better craftsmanship and a better warranty. Those two things have to play in to your decision as well. What's most important is a personal decision.

I understand this. I was apprehensive when I got my first Apple Leather case for the XS, I wasn't sure I'd like the open bottom.

I got the Apple Umber leather case for the iPhone 14 Pro. I also preordered the Bullstrap Sienna and will make that my primary case once it comes in.

nomad or bullstrap for 14 PM ? European users ?
Nomad is for me not acceptable because of the TPU edges, but its more durable, affordable and also you can get it from multiple stores here in Europe. Bullstrap have in my opinion better patina, but also higher price and also long shipping, at least 2 weeks to Europe. But for me its Bullstrap no doubt.

Maybe look for Ryan London case as well. Could be interesting. UK based company, cheaper than Bullstrap. As in almost 50% cheaper considering strong dollar against euro.

But not sure about quality because I don’t own one yet. Ordered it, will arrive sometime in Oktober.

Ryan London was €53,-, shipping was free while using the code “FETCH”.

Bullstrap would be €102,- including shipping.

What Decoded reputation in Europe? I have used in past. Decent.
