Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

Bit of a noob here. Thinking of getting a decent leather case without breaking the bank first to see if I really want to get into the pricey stuff. I'm mainly considering the Nomad Modern Leather Case, since their legacy iPhone model cases are going for cheaper right now. Is that a good case to go for?
Also, Nomad keeps using the term "Horween Leather", in contrast to some other brands who say they use "Genuine Leather". Is there any real difference between the two kinds of leather (in the short or long-term) if I'm not nitpicking or know much about this stuff?
I'm probably not going to be taking specific care of the case too much, but also won't be harsh with it. I'll just end up using it like a regular phone for day-to-day activities without much thought.

Never been a fan of nomad leather cases since they use tpu edges. Ryan London, Andar are good choices. Of course the fail safe is always apple leather cases. Give this thread a good thorough reading to hopefully make your decision easier.
I'd go Ryan London or Andar. Do you think you want an open bottom or closed?
Every time I try and place an order with my details the order gets cancelled within an hour and they don’t reply when I ask for an explanation.
Unfortunately, since I'm looking for an older iPhone 11 case, both Ryan London and Andar have already stopped stocking them. It's the same deal with quite a few other smaller companies unfortunately, most of them are servicing the iPhone 12 line at most.
I was thinking about the Apple Leather Cases, but I've heard there's been a noticeable drop in the build quality & leather quality since the introduction of MagSafe into the cases. Is that false or is there some truth to that?
Will definitely take the time to go through some of this thread before I make a decision though, thank you so much!
Like I mentioned to the user above, neither of those sell iPhone 11 cases unfortunately, but if you do have other solid recommendations, I'm all ears.
I'm switching over from the iPhone 8 to the 11. It's quite a massive size jump for me that'll take some time to get used to, so I know I'll be definitely be dropping that phone at least a few times. Consequently looking for closed bottom for added protection, which is another reason why Nomad looked like a half-decent option.
For the 8 I'd definitely go woth the Apple leather case.
I'm also using the 11 and its really hard to find a good quality leather case any more. Andar still has the Marshall case available, Bullstrap still makes the 11 case but its just as expensive as a 14 case which blows my mind. Nomad still makes a case, and its on for $19.99 right now. Decoded doesn't make them anymore but some stores still have them. Mujjo (garbage leather) is completely discontinued. I got my case from Geometric Goods and its been a great case but they are basically discontinued now too. I'm craving a new case but haven't been able to find one worth getting, or at a decent price (shipping costs to canada are too much)
I have both for 13 max for a year, nomad is real leather but marks/scratches easy and patinas, I have black, sides are rubber but can be advantage in summer wet hands etc, also more protection if dropped and won't tear. Downfall is the bottom is a bit tuff on pinky v apples, apples does get sticky in heat but good grip, it moulds to the phone better imo.
The nomad is a bit taller too. I use apples midnight way more than the nomad.
Also have a blue apple silicone but rarely use it.
If was buying now for 14 max would just get the apple midnight.
Sorry I don't think I phrased that right. I'm currently using the 8 and will be switching to the 11 soon. So I'm looking for a case for the 11.
Good call on the Andar Marshall. I only checked their Aspen Case, which was out of stock. Thanks for the heads up on some of these makers. I'll definitely have a look at Decoded and Geometric Goods. The Nomad does seems like really amazing deal for the quality that they promise.
Yeah it's a bit of a shame that the leather case makers move a lot quicker than the rest of the market. It makes sense I guess, people buying leather cases instead of plastic/rubber are generally more prone to also being higher spenders with the latest, greatest iPhones.
Also, if I'm assuming correctly from your profile picture, it's nice to randomly see another F1 fan in the wild lol.
I've tried looking for the official Apple Leather Case for the iPhone 11 but it seems to be tough to find right now, since they themselves don't sell it anymore. I'll keep looking though, since that seems to be the popular recommendation here.
From what you're saying, it sounds like the Nomad adds quite a bit of bulk to the phone. You mentioned its taller than the Apple case...is it significantly thicker too?
Since I'm going from the tiny iPhone 8 to the iPhone 11, I'm already going to have an adjustment period with that size jump. Do you think the Nomad case will be too bulky for me to make that transition easily?
Also, how well is the combination of the rubber and the leather done on the case? Does it feel flimsy or feel like it's going to fall apart after long-term usage?

absolutely, at the corners. you’d have to drop it on something angular.
Just got the Andar for my iPhone 14 Pro. I love the smell. Way, way better fit than the dumb Apple Leather case. Each of the 4 corners snaps on loudly and grips well. I hate that I've wasted so much on Apple Leather cases that fall right off.
Apple didn’t make a leather case for the 11. They only made it for the 11 pro series.
Never heard of this company. Checked out the website and their “Marine” color is amazing. Too bad they don’t making 13 mini cases.
