Which model did you get? some of the much newer introduced models aren't very strong compared to the other models, but some of the longerlasting models are amazing.

Yes, that is why I got the TP in the first place was the rep for reliability. I thought I would be all set for years.

After having my problems I searched around and would have to say the thinkpad brand is long dead under Lenovo. I know all laptop vendors have quality issues, but the support system at Lenovo was a complete fail.
Really, I don't know if there is a laptop that I would trust at all.

I learned a long time ago, never put anything on top of the car, not even "just for a sec". It's too easy to forget it.

OTOH, if your phone is always in your hand or in your pocket -- how do you make sure the phone doesn't occasionally go through the wash?

I agree and take it one step further. When phone is in pocket, it's always in my right pocket. Jacket and pants.

I am a lefty when it comes to phone. To me, it just makes sense to have keys in right pants pocket. When I am going to my car to drive, the car is to my right. When I am in the car, the ignition switch is to the right of the steering column, so I am handling the keys with right hand.

This could of course all be different if you are in Europe or Japan. :D

Because it is in the pocket of the pants I am currently wearing. I have never put a phone through the wash. As a matter of fact... if I am changing pants, I always empty all pockets before doing do. Thus being at home, iPhone goes to dock (connected to iMac).
