Strange, I'm running a 27-inch 4k display at a Windows 10 desktop PC, scaling set to 150 %, and it's just wonderful. The only horrible thing is software not being developed properly for this Windows scaling, and indeed this might be more complicated than on the Mac platform. Anyway even most Open Source developers have made it by now.

But you know who has NOT made it? Apple. iTunes on Windows still looks blurry on a high-res display.

I prefer the Windows 10 scaling as well. It looks pretty good at each 25% step which offers a lot more flexibility than the fixed 200% of OS X. 200% renders the desktop too small for my tastes. You turn a huge display back into 1440x900 unless you have a 5K iMac.

Windows software is rapidly catching up with regard to HiDPI support as well.

I don't understand why so many MR readers are so adamantly against Windows. I think Windows is absolutely terrific. Arguably I am more productive when I use Windows. And this is coming from a Mac user. Granted, my Windows machine(s) are not $300 ones from Walmart. Honest discussion--would somebody explain to me the hate?

Endless updates that shut down my computer just when I need it, bugs, viruses, no real security, expensive software all round, bloat ware installed to offset the outrageous licensing costs, unintuitive, endless time just spent organising files folders etc, touchscreen nonsense..... I could go on but it's pointless these are all MY objections to Windows and what many people love about it.

These other manufactureres just don't get it do they? Whenever Samsung or, in this case, Lenovo attack Apple it's always the hardware they go for. But they don't stop to think that maybe it's mostly the software and services which makes Apple the winner every time, their services are unbeatable and unrivalled. Sure, the hardware might not be the absolute best specs you can get for the price but it's always beautiful and it's the services/ecosystem people are invested in and are continuing to pay for.

Sure, switch to Lenovo and get a MUCH faster laptop...but lose all of Apple's services which made your life so easy and great.
