I bet you anything he uses an iPad at home. I've noticed a trend where all these celebrities are endorsing other smartphones/tablets but tend to have iPhones/iPads. I think money for endorsing these products may be a factor...;)

And I'll bet if anyone sees him using an iPad, he loses a butt load of money...

Kelso, Kelso, Kelso!!!

Aston...you failed your life thanks to your crappy movie..and now you want to fail again as being a product engineer....funny....

You are not Steve Job!!!

Explain to me how being super rich / famous and banging Mila Kunis on a regular basis is a failure…

With an iPad, I can use the web browser or IMDB app while beaming some content to an Apple TV via AirPlay. and use my receiver for its audio.

how can I do that while using this device's projector, it's key feature?

When asked about the upcoming iPad, Kutcher said he wasn't worried about the competition as it would be unlikely to approach the features found in the Lenovo tablet.

And he's right. The question is if anyone cares about these features. Like the speaker/subwoofer. I'm far more likely to watch an iPad with headphones, for instance, and it's not really because the iPad has a crappy speaker. It's because I want to keep its noise to myself. Make the speaker really good, and I'll want to keep it to myself even more.

The projector made me listen. I've heard that they will be in future phones. I love my apple gear but that is a feature that would make me look elsewhere if apple decide its a non feature. Hd films on the wall would be amazeballs!!

I'm not hating on him in particular, but lately it just seems like if you are famous enough and a tech company is willing to work with you, you will immediately be giving an engineering or a consultant title. Despite the fact you probably have no experience in that area.
Yeah, I hate this; I have the same problem with Will.i.am, whose design expertise can be rated most generously as… sickening, yet he can just come up with some dreadful iPhone accessory, design cars that look like the most obnoxious gamer computer cases etc. and it magically happens, no questions asked.

Same problem with honorary doctorates; getting a PHD is supposed to be a huge achievement, and I could understand handing out honorary degrees to people who have nonetheless advanced an academic field in some meaningful way; e.g - computer programmers who have invented important new technologies or whatever. But when people like Donald Trump get them for being nothing but a sleaze-bag with business practices that make most tyrannical dictators blush, it devalues the accomplishment for those willing to spend six, seven, eight or even more years studying and working hard in an academic field.

That all aside, the produces don't look that bad, and the $500 Android tablet sounds like pretty good value actually; not sure if I'm interested overall as I'm still more interested in smaller, more portable tablets, as I don't really need something bigger.

As much as I thought Kutcher was annoying with all his tech stuff, he really keeps with it and seems genuinely passionate about tech. Granted he's not Jony Ive, but he seems pretty far from Alicia keys in that respect.

It will be very interesting if the pica projector looks like in the promo video:

yeah he likes tech, He kept using an up band even at 2.5 men. Prob paid to wear it contractually, but at least he seems interested in varied products

For those of you saying the projector is stupid, I'll personally bet you if Apple created this, people would call it the best thing ever.

If Apple added a projector... But that's the point, isn't it? Unless current technology far surpasses what I think is possible Apple would never add a Pico Projector because, for all the reasons mentioned so far in this thread, it would be impractical and pointless. I would argue Apple does a good job of adding technology when it makes sense to, when it is mature and ready. They did not invent the MP3 player, the Smart Phone, the tablet, thumb print sensors, or NFC payment (not released, but we know enough) but they did make the best ones, hands down, when released. We have yet to see if they nailed the Smart Watch, but within a year we will. Watch (see what I did there?) to see if everyone copies the dial, interface and taptic sensor.

So if some day Apple does release an iPad with a built-in projector know that they won't be copying Lenevo; the bar Apple sets will be so much higher.

After reading the title my first thought was, Wow Lenovo has an engineer named exactly the same as the actor? But then I realized IT IS the actor. I guess anybody can be an engineer these days.

Forget about 4 years of BS + 2 years of MS plus years and years of work experience. Just become a famous enough actor, and they will give you any title for free.

This reveals the truth that Dr. Dre was always just a licensor of his image to Beats.

they pay him a ton of money to "work" for them but really he's just a spokesperson and he definitely uses apple products (like everyone else in hollywood) outside of that job in his daily life

So this guy is qualified to help develop a tablet because he" famously starred as Steve Jobs in "Jobs," the biographical movie directed by Joshua Michael Stern."

Is this for real.

Another tablet that is going to s*** the bed. Its doesn't even look as good as the Microsoft Slate and we all know how that is doing.

And why is it the "Yoga" tablet. this is like a bad dream.

It reveals nothing of the sort. If this were the case, I doubt he would've gotten a healthy percentage of the profits from Beats transference to Apple.

You don't have to like the guy, but he does know sound, and he is a pretty savvy businessman. He's far more than a mere celebrity mascot.

The Yoga line numbers among the best designed and most popular ultrabooks around. I say ultrabook, because it's not really a tablet. It just has tablet features.

And it's called the Yoga because of the extra degrees of movement the screen has.

I had to stop reading this as soon as I got to the part where Aston Kutcher gets to title himself as an "Engineer". As an engineer (Professionally Licensed), it drives me nuts when someone without the education or licensure as an engineer gets to title themselves as such. I know this isn't the case in the States but up here in Canada "Engineer" is a protected title so that you know what you're getting when someone says they're an engineer...my professional rant of the day.

The point isn't why is it called Yoga the point is why in the hell would you want to.

Also I just read the WSJ article and it was ridiculous. This guy is a clown and he's not helping Lonovo at all, it may actually be hurting them with this nonsense.

"I refer to it as the tablet with a projector. I get what you are saying, the Yoga line of product is a holistic line about the flexibility of the device. Think of how many Macs Apple AAPL +0.43% had! This is our version of the i-this and the i-that."

If that line is not pure BS I don't know what is.

I dunno. I could see it having a few uses. Then again, I do have a little more interest in conversion devices than most people do around here. Especially when it comes to touchscreens with proper stylus support (fingers crossed for iPad Pro).

It's cheesy as hell, but unless they make a huge marketing push with it, I doubt it'll affect sales much at all. The Yogas are sleek little laptops, and they do a pretty good job of selling themselves.

Uhh...Apple Wireless Keyboard and Magic TrackPad remind you anything, Lenovo?

Lenovo sells a fairly large number of computers, they really don't need this product to be successful. I assume this is more of test the market and see if the reputation Lenovo has for making quality products will be enough to create a toe hold in the market. Lenovo seems to be doing well in phones maybe this will do well too. Yoga book, Yoga tab, and phone could be a winner.
