After reading the title my first thought was, Wow Lenovo has an engineer named exactly the same as the actor? But then I realized IT IS the actor. I guess anybody can be an engineer these days.
Forget about 4 years of BS + 2 years of MS plus years and years of work experience. Just become a famous enough actor, and they will give you any title for free.
I'm not hating on him in particular, but lately it just seems like if you are famous enough and a tech company is willing to work with you, you will immediately be giving an engineering or a consultant title. Despite the fact you probably have no experience in that area.
This proves that titles mean NOTHING. A person can have what-ever title they want but it doesn't mean they know what they're doing with it.
Just as a note, here in Texas you cannot legally call yourself an 'engineer' unless you actually have an engineering license from the state, which entails education, a rigorous test, and actual experience.
Poppycock. The failure rate on Lenovo laptops of that price range is pitiful. Their service options for hardware failures are appalling. We supplied them for a couple of months and then reverted to the TOSHIBA systems. At least Tosh have next day on parts if you're a service centre. Lenovo was a whole different story.
2 month ETA on a mainboard for a system barely a year old (Z570 I think it was). We had to pay out of our pockets to replace that POS due to our strict SLAs. The reason being: they ship that many different models all with slightly differing screw placements and specifications, that they don't have the backing or infrastructure to support the crap they manufacture.
But hey, I'm sure your personal experience with two cheap Lenovo laptops makes my statement a farce.
This. This is insane. And Ashton should talk about people having their fingers in lots of things. That's why you have an exwife dumba**
Say what you will about him, but he does actually have an engineering degree. With that said, he clearly was brought on for marketing purposes not engineering.
He's been involved in tech for quite a while and has been surprisingly successful. He has a good eye for companies to invest in and IMO is better in tech than he is in film.
People to often let their knowledge of someone's experience in one field completely cloud their perspective of them as an individual.
Don't get me wrong. I don't appreciate him as a talent in acting. However I do think he's a shockingly astute business man.

If "Jobs" comes on Netflix, just grab a beer and some pretzels.
People don't want tablets, they want iPads.
