I love the language of "finds herself pregnant." Like she wasn't an active part in that happening. Not much of a scientist if she can't even figure out how birth control works (or is dumb enough to have sex with a guy that won't use it).

Hah!

I remember a girl who 'found herself pregnant'. She was told that she couldn't get pregnant if it was her first time. It was, and she was as fertile as any living thing could be apparently.

My grandmother-in-law swore that she was 'made pregnant' by seeing 'god' in a vision while in the tub. Well, she was nuts, but...

Sex education, taught by people that can cut through the BS families ladle on 'the act' would go a heck of a long way. I was reading medical books by the time I hit junior high, and I knew, by then, how it all worked. Yeah, you can get pregnant almost any time. If the uterus is 'locked and loaded', the chances of becoming pregnant are really high. If it wasn't, humans wouldn't be so numerous on this planet. We are MADE to procreate. Like a virus, a chicken, a goldfish, a horse, a worm...

The BS I heard that families told their kids, or that they believed. Yikes... Education is always better than superstition and hearsay...

Yeah... as if we don't know where this is going. But hey at least she is getting a way from her favorite video game... Nintendo.

Brie Larson ≠ Chemistry with just about anything she touches …
The movie itself was (or maybe both?) lacking chemistry or excitement for me as there was no peril. A character with virtually no flaws who is basically god-like and indestructible? That’s just boring to watch. At least Superman had exposure to Kryptonite as a weakness and concern for human frailty as a handicap when enemies tried to attack him.

What did Captain Marvel have?

But yeah, some actual emotion from Brie might have helped. A furrowed brow is all we seemed to get. I show more emotion when I’m on the toilet!

Not so impressive from the backView attachment 1717699!
Yup, the suits are designed to be moved in and are fixed in post. Just check out the bat suit for example, it’s just a big rubber condom. You can put the brightness up in places during the film to see it hanging baggy af from his legs. 🤣

Great. Keep her busy, Apple, so that she never has time to approach or attempt to do destroy a Star Wars project. Keep her a** out of Star Wars. Apple should hire Kathleen Kennedy for a few projects too.

Apple has placed a straight-to-series order for "Lessons in Chemistry," a 1960s-era drama series starring actress Brie Larson, according to Variety. The series is expected to begin streaming on Apple TV+ in spring 2022.

The report notes that Larson will play Elizabeth Zott, whose dream of being a scientist is put on hold due to gender stereotypes:The series will be based on the upcoming novel of the same name by Bonnie Garmus, and will be written and executive produced by Academy Award nominee Susannah Grant. Larson, Jason Bateman, and Michael Costigan will also serve as executive producers.

Larson is best known for starring in "Captain Marvel," and for her Academy Award- and Golden Globe-winning role in the 2015 film "Room." In 2019, it was reported that Larson would star in another Apple TV+ series based on undercover CIA operative Amaryllis Fox, but the project is said to be on hold as Larson focuses on "Captain Marvel 2."

That sounds awful.

I wont. So shouldnt you otherwise were sending message to apple tgat its ok to cast bad actors
You think she's a bad actor, but that's not a fact. Both by the awards she's received and what her peers in Hollywood say and the industry continuing to hire her means the experts in this field clearly disagree with you. I'm guessing you have no connection to the industry. Often attacks on actors come across to people who don't work in the business come off as ignorant as a computer user who says "Macs suck and are more expensive," because the don't have the same experience that many users in these threads have. Then users can explain why it depends on what you do, the experience, and all that. A professional opinion vs a novice opinion. In the case of Bri's acting, the arguments often boil down to men who really are saying "she should smile more". Calling Danver's (her character she is playing) in CM "cocky" is a criticism, while the boys are busy loving how Tony Stark is such a genius. He's more cocky than her, was in a far worse film than hers (Iron Man 2) and the reality is that it's because Bri is coming off as confident as a woman, an issue rooted in gender, and has nothing to do with her ability to act.
In other words, most crictisms of Bri are rooted in some form of sexism.

Note to the mods, I'm not calling a poster sexist, (and none of this is political) just explaining the root of an argument is mired in sexism, whether or not the poster is aware of it. I'm calling out a bias.

Sorry to bust anyone’s bubble, but none of the actors look like they do in their suits.

My wife and I were walking down a street in South Beach and saw a photo shoot going on with a beautiful model in a very tight and shapely dress. When we walked past and saw it from behind, it had a line of clothes pins from top to bottom keeping it tight against her figure.

Magic.

Birth control methods (pills, prophylactics) were not all that reliable / effective back then. Failure scares were quite common. People were just as bright as they are now, but the products they relied on weren't as good.

with the picture i thought marvel type content was coming to atv
after reading the article - i guess not

In my eyes, 'Foundation' will be the make or break series for Apple TV+. can they do an epic production like that, which will keep me subscribing?

They've extended my subs till July 31st... Still haven't given them a penny and wouldn't have done if it were paid-for, despite having subscribed at one time or other for all other streaming services. I even tried Quibi.
