Review Round #3
#5 Macintosh IIvi - 1 Point awarded to katie ta achoo
#6 Power Macintosh 8600 - 2 Points awarded to emw

Good quick round, looks like I will need to start cropping the pictures more, and leave Super vague clues. ;) . Naw lets keep it fun, and fair. I will start work on the next round.

The clue for #5 needs no detail, the IIvi was one of the most short lived Apple comptuers in history.

iBook g3 clamshell graphite, the one that could have a HD of up to 6 gigs.

WOA! SIX! :p

With an ethernet, USB, and power cable plugged in.

are those the little details? :p

edit:
wait a minute.. that's not a power cable. Video out.
*has bad sight*

edit2: has even worse sight:
with a firewire, not two USB.
Geez, I need an eye transplant

Well, you are getting closer and closer, but sadly per the rules edits don't count :(.

What the game is looking for is the name of this iBook more then anything else :)

Just like the iMac line, there were lots of iBooks :)

Midway

That would be the iBook SE G3/466Mhz (FireWire) (a.k.a iBook SE Second Edition, a.k.a. P1.5 or Midway) family M2453.

And here's the webpage you got the image from: http://suyama.co.jp/newibok2.html. :-D

Came with a G3/466MHz proc (IBM PPC 750CX) with 256kB on-die L2 cache, on a 66Mhz bus, that could throttle itself down to 366MHz when not under load; 64MB RAM standard, upgradeable to 576MB (64MB soldered to the mobo, one SO-DIMM slot,) ATI Rage Mobility 128 with 8MB video RAM on an AGP 2x bus, that output to a 12.1", 800x600, active-matrix LCD; standard 10GB, 2.5", 3500RPM hard drive, 6x DVD-ROM drive, one USB 1.1 port, one FireWire port, one 100Base-TX port, one V.90 56k modem, and one internal AirPort (802.11b) port.

Any other details you want? ;-)

--Removed My 'entry' as it's Q840's show.--

Not to be picky, but I think you'll find that the IIvi and the IIvx had the same case, so can I still have my point? :(

So here's my submission... As you can guess from the filename, it's an AppleVision monitor; but I'm looking for the computer that's next to it.

(P.S. When someone answers correctly, I'll credit the photo source.)

You are correct, Perhaps I should now start to resize, and change formats on the images. I keep forgetting people can use Google and search by size and dimensions.

SE actually stands for Special Editon, much like the iMac DV / SE. ;)

it's a 1710av Monitor.

I hope you understand that I would like to finish my 20 images for this thread, and if you would like to start your own quiz game thread after (or parallel) please feel free :) .

I have all the images queued up and ready to go, and would like to keep moving on with them until they are through. I would be more then happy to start the game up again with a partner in finding images, or simply just play the next round along with other people :)

Because I didn't leave a clue as to what exact system this was, I was leaning to giving you the point, until I noticed you edited your post.

And you are correct they do share the same case, but I need to be somewhat tight on that, as over 50% of Macintosh computers share their case with an other model.

Judging by your checking into this thread often, I am sure you will make that point, and many more back ;) . The field is tight, but we are not 50% done yet!

Looks like a tight pack at this point, we may need to shake things up a bit to get some more points flowing as we are almost at the halfway point in the game!

Oooh! Harsh! Bring on the next ones - I like this game! :D

No 9

Performa 6400 could be either a 180 or 200 mhz model (according the site the pic came from!!)

Would the Real #9 please stand up

Continuing were the original game stopped, here are 2 more Classic computers that need the help of Macrumors members to ID :).

#9 = 4 Points (Clue 80) BONUS POINT, what is the clue in regards to?

#9 = 4 Points (Clue 80) BONUS POINT, what is the clue in regards to?
I'm guessing by the case and the ports that this is a Quadra 610. The only thing I can associate the 80 with is the RAM speed of 80ns.

No 10 is a Quadra 650, which was faster than the 610 (33MHz 68040, as opposed to 25MHz). Unless, of course, No 9 is actually a Centris 610, in which case, it only had a neutered 20MHz 68LC040 processor.

EDIT: You've got me beat on the SCSI clue though...can't see what that especially relates to, except the disk bus.

Macmaniac said:
#9 is not a Centris, it is actually a Powermac 6100, I think the 80 refers to the 80ns minimum RAM speed.
If #10 is a Quadra 650 which has a speed of 33mhz, then #9 is actually faster with either a 60mhz or 66mhz processor!

#9 is NOT a PowerMac 6100. It doesn't have the goofy high-density video port; but a regular DB-15 video port. That makes it a Centris/Quadra 610.

Correct, AND you got the Bonus point!

80ns is the speed of the memory on the Quadra 610 v.s the Centris 610's 100ns memory speed. With the faster memory, and faster processor, the Quadra was actually a noticeable speed increase!

Your Radar worked well this round :)

Good guesses on #10 everyone, but nobody has got it right yet, as well as the associated bonus point! ;)
