I think we've been spoiled by Steve's "one more thing" showbusters. Sometimes they just release new products.. Can't change the world every few months.

$79 for dual driver 'phones is a bargain - I paid over $300 for my Super.Fi 5 earphones

Because Apple deserve it, they brag about this being a "big" event and so far everything could have been refreshed w/o hoopla.
almost as bad as the "apple event" for the hi-fi and leather cases...now that was bad....
edit - wow a freaking soccer game... now if they can get EA sports NHL 09 on it i'll be impressed

Oh, I didn't know. I don't have a Touch.
I'm just tired of hearing about Apps, especially games, all the time.
I find most of them difficult on Touches, probably about the same for iPhones. It's just boring to me.

No not really. My Shure SE310 phones list for $299. That's more than my Nano. But they're good.
Apple's phones are probably closer to the Shure SE-210 phones which you can buy for a low as about $120. So if the Apple in-ear phones are 97% as good at the 210s then for $79 then that is pretty good value.
