No, it was the same kit, no firmware needed to work. I have both a 2nd and a 3rd Gen Nano, both work with the same Nike+ sensor without problems.

I have the 80GB classic, it cost my friend who bought it for me for Christmas, $249.99. So about $3.12 a gig.

The new 120GB equates to $2.07 per GB.
