I also tried the Dare for about 12 days. I liked the phone, but the music player just wasnt very good. The interface was not bad, but the database was horrible.

Songs are in alphabetical no matter what, even if you try to make a playlist and put them in your own order.
Album art almost never worked.
No lyrics like with iPhone.
If you select an artist, it lists all their songs, rather than organizing them by album or anything else.
Coverflow mode (yes it has one) sucks.

Web Brower:
Not nearly as good as iPhone.
No pinch zoom.
No Wi-Fi.
Keyboard not very good (qwerty)

The main feature that I liked was the phone (contacts, favorites system, etc) and the camera. In short: get the iPhone.

LG Dare = Crappy OS

Don't get me wrong, I was a Verizon Wireless customer for about four years and I recently switched when I bought the original iPhone. Verizon has far better coverage when I am in New Jersey and certain parts of Philadelphia, AT&T has weaker coverage where my parents live. (Where I am right now...) But AT&T is currently the only provider in the Philly subways and they have much nicer phones. Verizon is plagued by horrible phones but great service.

Go figure.

Hint: Focus more on sentence structure and grammar than Dare vs. iPhone. I need a Tylenol now.
:(

ANYWAY to answer your question

The user interface of the prada/dare/LG crap is just that- Crap. sure it looks like an iphone from a hardware aspect but what you will actually be interacting with is what you need to worry about. iPhone UI is amazing, intuitive and expandable. it seems to me that the other phones have a lot of the gimmicks you'd want but they just dont work together as well as the iPhone system. Then again, if you're 16 I would much rather forego the iPhone and worry about getting a car first if you haven't already. BTW a first gen phone would do just fine for what you wanted too... theyre all over ebay (most are unlocked too) and probably [read 'are'] less expensive.

oh and yeah- pay attn in english class, it helps. :D

Yep! The Verizon phones all run on 'BREW', it's crap. I wonder if the Blackberry's are running on modified operating systems; allowing Verizon to lock down their phones.

I had both the dare and iphone and i kept the Dare. I got all this apple iphone is better junk, but if i wanted to browse the internet i would whip out my laptop not my cellphone. I travel a lot, and i am sorry, ATT service is horrible, Verizon service is the best. Your cellphone is only as good as your service provider, because i thought the iphone was a cellphone, isn't it?
