Looks pretty cool to me. I would actually like to see this in a Kindle more then I would an iPhone, but it will be interesting either way to see what Apple does with this.

Seems More and more likely we will see this technology evolve. Interested as well where it leads.

The company I currently work for does a lot of work on displays including flexible ones, and no it's not Samsung or LG. I think they do a lot of innovative work in the pixels and were quite involved in e ink displays. Unfortunately the department and building it's done in is in another country :(
But bendy displays are certainly the next big thing I think.

LG may be really good at making curved displays, but where's the demand? Consumers have already eschewed them in the large screen display market. A couple of years ago, that's all big box stores had were those horrible curved screens. Early this year they couldn't give them away. So while I think they are interesting and probably have a niche somewhere they would be useful (theme park displays?) , curved screens are not something anyone really wants at home or to carry around.

Okay, but they're not talking about curved displays. As in curved side to side, or top to bottom. Those were already tried and failed in the smartphone market.

Instead, they're talking about flat phones that fold out to show a larger flat display area.
