So switch between sources, like we have to for Blu-Ray, game consoles, etc.

Actually it's the opposite. The Smart TV paid for the TV. The TV makers get significant revenue from companies like Netflix for stuff like the remote buttons, but also they sell your viewing habits to advertisers using the automated content recognition software built into every TV now.

The more you know... Now I will probably turn them into dumb TV again by cutting network connection altogether.

The support link you provided above don't mentioned the support for 2018 TV. Not sure if we should celebrate here....

You are right. I can't believe they just took it down. I own a C8 OLED, it will be the last LG product I've bought. At this point if they just said "we won't support 1-year old models" I'd prefer it to this mess.

Sneaky.

Does this presumably mean support for the 2018 models is no longer coming despite them clearly previously saying otherwise?

That'd be my guess. This will be my last LG product if this is the case. That's some pretty lousy product support, IMO.

Yeah, sorry about that. A few days ago they released engineering firmware 5.30.02 and I can't get a confirmation of Apple additions from the guys that test it.

They released 05.20.01 yesterday, no Apple TV tho.

Ok, Apple TV is live on 2018 models, software 05.20.01. It will show on app launcher. If it doesn’t, search for it on the webOS content store. LG OLED B8 here.
My guess is 05.30.xx later on will be Airplay 2 and Homekit.

75UK6190PUB still waiting for 5.30 update, no airplay its late 2018 model. Seriously my 65 inch Vizio e series 2016 model got airplay update a year ago; but my newer lg tv didn’t at the moment I own a apple tv 4k but I don’t use apps I bought it for the airplay which once LG gets update I will move my apple tv 4k to my other tv that doesn’t have anything smart features
