The LifeProof will include instructions on how to test the integrity of the case before placing your phone in it. Last I heard they won't be offering a warranty for the phone itself, and I don't blame them. I can't imagine how many idiots will take it SCUBA diving to 60ft and then complain that LifeProof ruined their phone. There is no proof to show that the case was used within its limits for them to offer a replacement due to defect.

And you can't put an otter box in your pocket it gets stuck. Also as long as theres a way to test it before you put a $300 phone in the case that'll be good enough for me.

Yeah I can't stand the rubber. I just ditched my Otterbox a couple days ago because I found the Casemate Pop on sale at Walmart for $2.50 and didn't want to spend money on another case since the Lifeproof comes out next week. Why I didn't get one of these in the first place is beyond me.

LifeProof has a Facebook page where you may ask anything you want and will usually get an answer shortly after from their staff. I recall seeing them address the function testing subject.

I had an otter box when i first got my IP4 but got rid of it about a month ago and got a speck candyshell. It's way better I can actually see my screen and put it in my pocket. I'll have to check out they're facebook. I can't wait for this dang case!!

70 bucks is steep but my boyfriend has a lifeproof case and he absolutely loves it. He switched from the otter box to lifeproof and will never go back.

That seems to be the general consensus among the beta testers. Check out their Facebook wall. A few of them post there regularly.

Purchase links will be sent out this Friday. If you're on the pre-order list you will receive a free waterpoof headphone adapter and free shipping. Not sure if there was a cut-off or when, but everyone on the list last month received a letter stating the above and I have seen it pop up occasionally from the person in charge of responses on their FB page.

No word about shipping for ten (10) days, even after sending email to customer service asking for shipping information, just silence.

Started a PAYPAL dispute for the order.

BANG, a few minutes after PAPAL, I receive a notice that the item has shipped. No tracking information just ( Shipping Method: USPS - First-Class Mail Package )

At this point all as I can say is, "WHERE IS THE PROOF"!

If you ordered by Paypal, they have no control on when you get charged. Paypal always takes the money immediately. Credit cards will be charged upon shipment. Take a look at their facebook page. They have been very communicative as to updates and anticipated ship dates. For those who ordered by May 31st, the anticipated ship date is June 17th. A least 2 weeks later for later orders. I have no idea why you got a shipment email, no one else has reported that. This company is great and real. Personally, I don't want a case that is anything else than what they say it is, and if I have to wait for perfection I will. Be patient or cancel your order, there are many people waiting who would love to take your place in the que.

Wow. Just.... wow. The case hasn't been released! It's a pre-order! You need to READ their site and READ the emails that they send to you before you make yourself look bad:

"stop mail quote" This is an innovative company with a NEVER replicated case and I believe a great product. If you don't agree wait. I for one will be posting reviews of this case when I get mine. I pre-ordered both my iPad and Verion iPhone and had to wait. This is really not much different.

Did you not read the letter enclosed with your purchase link? People never read, then blame it on the company. It clearly states that they would be shipped to the United States this week and will begin shipping shortly after, probably the 17th. Customer support has been swamped with emails lately.

Edit - I guess that email is posted above :)

But anyway, by all means, cancel. As mentioned above, there are many people that would love to take your place and wait it out. A pending charge came up on my CC for verification purposes but it disappeared a few days later. I should be amongst the June 17th shipment.
 
^ Thanks for the links. Can't wait to get mine as I should be in the first launch of units tomorrow. Not a big fan of that camera cutout but if this case lives up to the hype then I'll get by.
 
I'm sure there will be some complaints about this case once customers get their hands on it. It never fails with any new product.
 
Uh oh, looks like some shipping delays are afoot. Got this email from them regarding the orders;

This week we have begun shipping orders for your LifeProof cases and will continue as we receive shipments from our factory in Taiwan.

In addition to our usual quality controls, we are manually hand-testing every single unit underwater to a stress-test depth of 10 feet. This is taking a lot more time and labor than we had expected. We are however quickly expanding our testing capacity and will soon catch up with our backlog of orders.

Based on the information from the factory we expect to ship from our fulfillment center all order numbers up to #100003051 by July 1. By July 8 we expect to ship all order numbers to #100006052 and by July 15 all remaining orders.

We understand your eagerness to get LifeProof’d but we also want to ensure that your experience with your LifeProof is the best possible. This is why we are giving such high attention to each individual LifeProof unit and we will keep you informed of progress.

Lucky me I'm in the first batch of orders so looks like it'll be a two week delay for me....at least for now.
 
This company is run by sleazy, lying pieces of trash. They promise date after date for shipping times. Each one passes with a new excuse. They did ship out some cases only to a few ass kissers on facebook, but clearly this new delay is because their cases are failing the water submersion test and now they're scrambling to buy more time.

Be prepared for those June dates to come and go, just like the April promises, just like the May promises... rinse, repeat.

But I have to agree with you on those ass kissers on facebook, they praise this case like god, I wonder if they are getting paid to post nice stuff. One folk even said he tried everything to scratch the screen and wasn't able to. What really?

BTW the delay was something expected, for a case marketed with such perfection "everything proof, best case ever etc bs" I doubt it perform as expected. Even dedicated waterproof camera have high failure rate, I can't see why this 2-parts-snap-case won't.
 
This is vaporware. The Facebook fanboys are a joke. If it doesn't ship soon, I'll be filing a paypal claim.
