So supposedly the form factor hasn't changed between the 6 and 6s including the bigger phones as well however Lifeproof has a "coming soon" banner on its web page for these cases. Can anyone confirm if a iPhone 6 case from Lifeproof would fit the 6s?

If I can save $70+ and not buy a new case of be happy. Unfortunately I need a case that can withstand severe elemental abuse.

I plan on taking my IP6 out of the Fre it's in and dropping in the IP6s. I dot't think .01" is going to make a real diff.
Hi,

Since I work at a Premium Reseller store, we sell Lifeproof cases and I was wondering if they will fit on the new 6s and 6s+.

Here is the official answer:
Current LifeProof for iPhone 6/6 Plus will not be forwards compatible for iPhone 6s/6s Plus.
We will be developing new sku’s for LifeProof 6s/6s Plus.
Currently we are looking launching these sku’s in mid Nov.

I find that hard to believe. I will check for myself. I am sure LP would prefer everyone buy a new case. I don't mind buying a new case but waiting until mid Nov. is unacceptable.

The wait for the LP case for the 6 took forever. There's no reason it should take till November for the 6S/s+ and I'm not convinced the old one won't fit. Could be wrong of course.

The 6s is .2mm(.008") taller, .1mm(.004") wider, and .2mm(.008") thicker. We are only talking about the thickness of a couple of sheets of paper in changes. I suspect the old case will work fine.

Use them at your own risk then :) I doubt LP would lie to me, since them saying the case won't fit means no orders from me until November.

All I really hope for is that they make the Lightning port large enough to accept other than Apple chargers. That's pretty annoying!

If the old case fits I'll use it though. $79 isn't cheap for a case.

My 6s arrived today. I took the 6 out of the Fre and the 6s dropped right in. I don't see any issue with using the Fre on the 6s.

??????? A picture of what?

I suppose I'm just after a photo of the 6s fitting in the case. Is it tight in there and do you think it may cause excessive pressure on the screen?

Just wonder why they are releasing a new case. I really want this for my hot tub so I can change music etc whilst in the water

There isn't much to see now. I have assembled the case with the 6s in it. Remember how small the increase in size was. The thickness of a couple of pieces of paper. As I said, the 6s just dropped in the case. No pressing was required to get it in. I didn't notice any difference in the fitting of the 6 and 6s. The power and volume controls work fine. The mute button doesn't work but it didn't work on the 6 either.

Can you please

Would you be willing to try your 6s through a water test?

I want to get the nuud for my 6s but lifeproof has said it is not compatible.

Uh no. I wear a helmet when I ride a motorcycle but I don't crash test the helmet. :D I use the Fre to make my phones water resistant but the only water they usually see is a splash or a quick look in the rain.

I can confirm the lifeproof 6 case works for the 6S as well. It's on my 6S now! Like mentioned above the mute button had become finicky with my iPhone 6 (muted well but kinda popped when un-muting i.e. It wasn't a smooth transition like it was when I first got it) and it's doing the same with my 6S. Not the new phone though. This case has been USED!

Do you notice any rainbow effects on the screen with the fre?

I do. I have tried cleaning the screen of the phone and the film on the Fre with various screen cleaners with no success. The patterns always persist. I have eventually learned not to let it bother me. The patterns are most noticeable on blank backgrounds. My step-daughter has Fre's on her phone and iPad mini and she has the patterns as well and ignores them like I do.

I know it's overkill but do you guys think the Fre is compatible with plastic screen protectors?...i.e. fit issues or touch sensitivity?

Well I tried the nuud case with my 6s plus and it does not work. Sucks.

Yeah I got 6s Plus in my Nuud and completely snapped closed, but it feels way too tight to be comfortable with. I didn't like the amount of pressure being put on the phone. MM in size do make a difference in a case like this.
