Keep your eyes out in your local Beat Buy. I just stopped in mine around 9:00pm. And they were putting out stock. And one of them happened to be the Frē for the 6S plus.

My first impressions so far is great!! Faith has been restored to lifeproof.
The sound is muffled (of course, it's a water proof case) but it's not as bad as previous models.

How much was it and what colors did they have ? Apple pay is 22% cashback so I might buy from them

it was $89.99 but as of right now Black is the only available color (even on Lifeproof's website)
Verizon has it for $99.99 ( but they say that the $10 extra is for Lifeproof's warranty that covers the phone if it gets damaged in their case)

Got the new Lifeproof 6S case. People I call can't make out what I'm saying, they say voice is muffled and sound like I'm underwater.

Same goes for the speaker phone, in that case people say they can barely hear what I'm saying.

From my personal experience I'd recommend people don't buy this case.

I'd like to hear how others are making out with their new Lifeproof 6S cases

couple of ways to fix the problem.
1. take your phone out and install it bottom side first, then close the case.
2. go to Settings>Accessibility> Turn on Phone noise cancellation.

I've done these 2 steps in previous life proof cases and they have seemed to help.

I might have to check my best buy for this. I really like the Fre more than the Nuud, and if the reviews are positive it might be worth a look

Ok, so I just picked up the fre for my 6s plus. Very impressed. Got the last one at my Best Buy. Water test was no issues and fit well. Had my wife call me right away just to check the sound and no issues on either end.

Screen protector seems good, no noticeable gap. Overall impressed.

Well...within 24 hours I returned the 6s plus fre. As Aaron at mobile reviews mentioned in his fre 6 review, it gets scratched like crazy. I had 2 large divets in the case, just from being in my pocket. Not worth it imo. Happy to still have my play proof

Been rocking my FRE case and iPhone 6s Plus for about ten days now. Phone is in pristine shape. No tumbles yet.

The case looks beautiful. Some very minor scratches on the back of the case where I've slid it in and out of zippered pockets. Personally I couldn't care less about that... I got the case to protect the phone, not to have something else to worry about. The scrapes look like black marks on an already black background. They blend in very well, as opposed to, say scratch-gate. That was a thing, right?

When the case arrived the audio nozzle was wound super-tight in the case, to the point where I could barely get it open. When I eventually did, i discovered that the audio adapter did not screw far enough in to the case for the iPhone to detect it. Bummer. One phone call later and Lifeproof is sending me a brand new case and audio-adapter combo free of charge. Very pleased with the customer service so far.

I loved my Lifeproof Nuud on my iP5, but an issue I have found with ALL Lifeproof cases is that the rubber on the outside frame of the case rubs off. It gets really bad too, my case did it and so did my brothers

I'm tempted to purchase the Fre for my 6S as I'm growing impatient waiting for the Nuud to come out - but the one factor that is making me hesitant to purchase the Fre is the plastic screen protector.

From all the reviews I've read, the screen protector causes rainbow-like distortions and it drastically reduces the Retina display quality. Also the screen was not improved on the 6S version from the 6 version.

For those who own the Fre, is the screen protector that bad and is the Nuud the better option of the 2?

Last I had a Fre, I returned it just because of the screen protector causing those issues. Another thing that annoyed me was the fact that it isn't completely stuck to the screen, so sometimes you have to push down harder than usual to get contact with the screen

Thanks for the confirmation. Disappointing that LP never upgraded or addressed the issue with the screen protector on the Fre. I actually like the Fre better than the Nuud in terms of looks and design but it looks like I'm going to wait for the Nuud because it doesn't have a screen protector.

In the meantime I purchased the Body Glove Shocksuit case for my 6S. Great reviews and great price. It also comes with a plastic screen protector but it can be easily removed and you can use your own SP. Reviews for this case have been excellent. Getting it delivered on Thursday.

Yeah it is quite annoying, but the Fre and Nuud are pretty comparable in protection IMO. I was really concerned with Laing my iP5 and Nuud in the pool for the first time, but with my 4 and the Fre I was confident that everything would be fine. For my mom, I needed to get her the Fre, as she throws her iP6 in her purse so a screen protector is needed. Another ring I dislike about the "protective" cases for the iPhone 5S/6/6S is the fact that the Touch ID sensor is covered by a seran wrap like plastic that bubble up sometimes and gets really annoying... As of now I have an iPhone 6S+ and am using a Tech21 case and a glass SP. Working great and absolutely love the case! It offers protection and is really slim

i haven't had any problems with the screen protector with the fre for the 6S plus. i love it. and faith has been restored to Lifeproof.

It's not like the protector is broken, but when it is used, it sticks to the screen in weird places sometimes and creates a rainbow effect

Mine has a slight rainbow effect too. But I can live with it. Loll

My 6s plus case has super minor distortions (aka fuzziness) underneath the screen protector. That's not an issue for me. The extra bulk makes it a little bulky in slacks, even in the back pocket, so I think I'm going to use mine exclusively during exercise, traveling to inhospitable places and on vacation. I also picked up a sexy decoded leather wallet case to use at work that I am currently in love with.

As a side note, the first headphone adapter that shipped with my case was defective out of the box and would not make connection with my 6s Plus. Contacted Lifeproof and they sent me a whole new case + adapter. Really impressed by their customer service!

I was waiting for the Nuud to come out for the 6S and I got tired of waiting so I bit the bullet and got the Fre - which I preferred looks-wise but was weary after reading some negative reviews regarding the sound quality of phone calls and the so-called cheap plastic screen protector.

I received the Fre today and did the water submerging test (passed with flying colors). Next I prepared to place my 6S into the case.

I cleaned my screen thoroughly (with cloth and packing tape to remove any dust/dirt/lint on the screen) and I did the same thing with the inside of the plastic screen protector of the Fre case (using tape is the trick to guarantee no residue between the screen protector and your iPhones screen).

The phone fit perfectly and looked great. While there was the rainbow-like rings in certain spots of the screen.....you really can not tell when your screen is lit. It's inly visible when the screen is dark. So no biggie there for me. It sat nice and flat with the iPhone screen and the Retina display looked great and unaffected to my eye.

Next I placed several calls with the speaker phone on and off. Since I've heard many complain about the call quality sound issues I was a bit nervous because up to this point I loved everything about the Fre case and was hoping that this would not be a deal-breaker for me having to return the case.

Fortunately this was a non-issue. The sound was great on both ends and neither myself of the person in the other end had difficulty with the sound. I was expecting some sound degradation since it was a waterproof case but there was hardly any loss of sound, much to my surprise.

Kudos to Lifeproof for a top-notch case. It is slim, stylish, waterproof, drop-proof, rugged and kick-ass in every way possible. I highly recommend the Fre case - even more so than the Nuud.

My advice is to purchase directly from LP because they have the latest versions and revisions of these cases that addresses some of the common problems most often reported. Certain retailers like Best Buy or Amazon may have older versions that may have some issues like poor sound on calls, small charging port door, etc.
