Just got mine in the mail. It came in a iPhone 5 fre box with an iPhone 5 manual. I was worried they sent the wrong thing at first. They also didn't attach the headphone port tether, but customer service is sending me out some tomorrow since that's their fault. I'm water testing the case now and will report back after I'm able to actually try it out.

The test made it through the water test, not that I thought it wouldn't or anything. Afterwards the touch sensor works perfectly fine. If anything the touch ID is MORE accurate with the case on. On calls I can hear the other person as if I didn't have a case on, and I don't sound muffled on the caller's end either (make sure you dry the water out of the mic hole first). My OCDness doesn't like that there are air bubbles on and around the parameter of the home button under the screen, but it's unavoidable in this case. The only difference I notice from having the case on vs the feel of my naked phone is the feel of the screen.

Update: 10 minutes after putting on the case, my dog knocked over a glass of water on my phone. Talk about luck!

A couple questions:

1. Is there any rainbow effect or bubbles underneath the screen?

2. How is the sound coming from the speaker port? Does it sound muffled?

3. How bad does the back of the case vibrate when you play music?

4. Does the screen protector seem "puffy" underneath the screen or is it flat, i.e. no spacing between the screen and screen protector?

Thanks

1. There is only a rainbow effect when the screen is off.
2. Sound doesn't sound muffled.
3. It vibrates, but doesn't rattle or distort the sound.
4. It seems a little puffy since it doesn't lay perfectly on the screen like a stand-alone screen protector would.

Got mine in the mail yesterday. Now I can't decide if I really want to spend $80 on a case...I should probably just put it on and be done with it.

I was waiting for a waterproof case for the 5S, maybe I'll swing by Best Buy and pick one up today (shows they are available on BB's site).

When I had my 4S, I babied it so bad that it annoyed me... once I put a Lifeproof on it, I took it anywhere, put it on wet bar counters, took it to the beach, etc. Threw it in my pocket with random junk. Doesn't add too much bulk, either.

Hmm, decisions decisions...

Well, I think I may send mine back and wait till the otterbox case comes out. This case advertised unhindered use of all the iPhone features but I can't use my car's aux jack or my klipsch earbuds without the screw in adapter, and I don't want to have to screw the darn things in all the time. This is especially annoying when you get a call while driving. I don't want to fumble around with unscrewing the aux cable just to answer my phone.

i have the zagg shield on my phone front and back, would love to get this case since i will be going to cancun in few days for a whole week. def can use it there during snorkeling, pool etc. but hate to have to take the zagg shield off.. wonder if it will fit with it on. I remember on my iphone 5, i had only the front on and it fit.

You heard of bluetooth

You heard of bluetooth

Don't have Bluetooth in my car, and I've always hated the headsets. I considered ordering a Bluetooth adapter for my car but don't want to spend $200 just to make my $80 case work for me

If only. I live in an area that has so many stations that FM transmitters frequently get interrupted. Oh well. The otterbox case should fit normal size aux cables at least. Those that use music on their phone less, or have Bluetooth capabilities should like the lifeproof case. It has the same good construction and quality as previous cases (family members own iPhone 4 lifeproof cases).

Picked up a black one today from BB. I already have experience with Lifeproof, I had one on my 4S. Good case, doesn't add much bulk but still gives 100% sealed protection. I can finally carry my 5S around and not give a damn. Touch ID does still work fine although it's a bit pickier than before. Callers can here me fine. Audio from the speakers is a bit muffled but nothing that bothers me. Glad they finally released one that's touch ID compatible.

A few questions about the build in screen protector:

1) How scratch resistant is it?
2) Does it have an olephobic coating?
3) Is it replaceable?

1. Not sure, probably not very scratch resistant considering the material. This is silly but on the Lifeproof I had on my 4S I put a screen protector over the Lifeproof screen, might do the same to the fré on my 5S.

2. I don't believe so, but it doesn't seem to accumulate prints as bad as the natural screen.

3. To my knowledge, no.

Just picked one up from bestbuy for my 5s and like it so far.

Quick question though is anybody else's home button black? All the pics I see show a white button..

Btw I have the white fre.

Isn't the headphone cover supposed to be tethered to the case on the new one? The one I bought today at Best Buy wasn't and I even asked them to open one and it was tethered, then they gave me an unopened one and I got him and it's not.

I believe it is supposed to be tethered; I just ordered mine from Amazon.com (as the retailer). Does it have the membrane for the sensor?

It's supposed to be same color and the home button will have a clear film.

That make total sense being my iPhone is space grey lol...

I contacted Lifeproof and they are sending me the tethered headphone cover. Great customer service.
