The atlas was a good case.......for the iPhone 5/5S. It's not available for the 6 or 6plus
Read further and you'll see a review of teh Lifeproof case.

It was a revelation that every sample of the Lifeproof failed the waterproofing test completely. The cases were completely waterlogged unlike every other waterproof case in the test.

"The Lifeproof, last year’s favorite, hasn’t changed much except it’s available in an iPhone 5 version. I’ve tested both over the long term. Get this–after an overnight test, I first thought the cases did flawlessly, thinking I was looking at cases that had not even condensation inside. When I opened them, they spilled water all over the floor. Each had completely flooded. In the open water quarter mile swim test with occasional shallow dives, both the iPhone 4 and 5 versions flooded partially with about 15% of the case full of water. This is a complete failure, even if by last year’s standards, this was the best light duty waterproof around.

The Lifeproof case may have a 1-year water damage guarantee but they don’t have a very secure locking or gasket system, just a simple tiny latch and a tupperware type seal. There’s also virtually no shockproofing. It’s build quality was considered ok last year because there was no competition. This year, that just isn’t acceptable. That isn’t a problem with the beefy armor or the extremely secure yet still just as thin Incipio with its 1 year water damage warranty. Forget this case entirely. I would not enter the water with one in anything but the calmest conditions and it won’t protect your case from much of a drop, either.

You’ll notice that published reviews of the Lifeproof are mostly flattering, but know that most assessments, unlike our testing, were done without availability or consideration for new competition. Besides our findings of the case’s fragility, reviewers found the plastic screen cover to inhibit touch responses and make the case feel cheap. PC Mag said, “The plastic screen cover and muffled audio are a bit of bummer.” Know that this feature improved since the iPhone 4/4S model, but we’re not fans of the plastic. The Incipio’s glass is more our speed."

Until I read that review I purchased Lifeproof cases for my wife's iPad, her iphone and my niece's Samsung. Never again.

So far I have had the V2 case for about 2 weeks now and I must say it is holding up very well. I have been opening and closing the door seal many times a day to test it and it has been holding up great. I think the sound is a little bit better as well However the back of the case still does scratch very easy.

I've had it for almost a month and it's doing well. The Lightning port door has held up. The sound quality is good (but it's a waterproof case) so you won't get crystal clear sound. But the only problem that I'm having is trying to find a holster to put this in.
So far the only one that works is the otter box defender holster.

V2 is so good for 2 months ...

V3 is even better for free (bet with my friend) and friend bought for $10 off via LifeProof.com during July 4th holiday sale

I call it V3

well, after a month, the V2 that i bought from AT&T; the tab finally broke in the battery cover. Luckily I caught the manager of the same AT&T store in a good mood because he let me exchange it. So on to the second V2 case. Lets see how long this one holds up.

I had LifeProof Fre cases on both my iPhone 4 and 5 and was very pleased with both of them. I recently got a Nuud for my 6 Plus and am very disappointed in how LifeProof's quality has gone downhill. The smoked plastic cover on the rear is slippery and looks/feels chintzy, the cover over the front-facing camera gives every picture a washed-out, milky appearance (it's clean, so that's not the problem), and the sound is absolutely horrible. The mic mutes my voice and gives very bad call quality and the speakers sound terrible - music and notifications are low volume and sound crackly/buzzy like a blown speaker.

I understand that waterproof cases come with certain compromises out of necessity, but I've never had such horrific issues with sound quality from previous versions of the LifeProof case. This is by far the worst case they've ever come out with. The irony is that they took forever to release the case for the 6 Plus, so one would think that they'd done their homework and come out with a very good product. Definitely not the case.

I've had the Nuud on my phone for three days and have already ordered another case - the Supcase water-resistant (not waterproof) case. As soon as it gets here, the Nuud will come off and go into the phone junk drawer. I previously had the Supcase Unicorn Beetle and it was head and shoulders above the LifeProof in quality and function (at about 20% of the price) - it just wasn't waterproof or even water-resistant. Since I spend a lot of time on/around the water, I need at least a water-resistant case and the new Supcase should do the trick - and it only cost $20. I've been a longtime fan of LifeProof, but I refuse to keep this piece of garbage case on my phone. If I didn't know better, I'd swear it was a cheap knockoff of a LifeProof case from some third-world sweat shop. I'm done with them - there are much better products on the market for a lot less money.

sorry, must take many selfies to notice this?

Have you noticed the back camera cover is kind of blue tint? Pics quality like without the case?

Sorry to hear your V2,
my V2 is still good almost 2 months, the back cover is still with minor scratches (back cover pic not attached).

If I were you, I would submit warranty replacement directly via LifeProof online warranty process for V3.

I don't think theres a V3. the model number is the same as whats on their site and what i currently have on hand.

Do you notice any differences between the V2 and V3 cases? How is the locking tabs on the battery door?

Actually, I very rarely take "selfies". I'm a 50+ year old man, not some teenager or twenty-something hipster on Snapchat. I did happen to take one for a specific reason and noticed the poor picture quality, so I played with it more to see if it was repeatable and/or caused by something else. I made sure the lens cover was clean, tried different lighting conditions, ensured it was focusing properly, etc. (I'm experienced in photography, it's one of my hobbies), but all the images from the front facing camera had a milky/hazy/soft focus look to them. I can't say I noticed a huge difference in image quality from the back camera - I took some outdoor/scenic photos yesterday and they do seem to be not quite as crisp, but that could just be my mind at this point. I'm not going to pixel peep or compare them to old photos I've taken at the same locations to check because it's a moot point now, the LifeProof is no longer on my phone.

On another note, I tried to use Siri earlier today and she wasn't hearing my voice well enough to even pick up what I was asking - which is consistent with what people have said about my voice sounding muted/muffled during calls with the LifeProof case on (never had any significant issues with the previous ones).

My new case arrived this afternoon and I couldn't get my phone out of the LifeProof case and into the new one fast enough. The Supcase is a huge improvement in quality and operation right off the bat, and at about 20% of the cost of a LifeProof case. It's water-resistant rather than waterproof, but I'll gladly deal with that trade-off in return for my phone working the way it's supposed to. I've always been a big fan of LifeProof cases before this - was very satisfied with my two previous ones and recommended them to a lot of people. IMO, their quality seriously went in the toilet with this case and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. If being 100% waterproof is important, I'd rather throw my phone in a Ziploc bag than put the LifeProof back on it. The sound quality and image quality would probably be about the same in the Ziploc bag anyway and it would only cost me pennies - and it would probably feel just as good in my hand as that cheesy plastic back cover on the LP case.

What's your budget?
How much does it cost?
there is no need to pay much attention on this kind of flashy stuff

Got v3 case on replacement of v1 power flap latch breaking. The power port opening on the v3 appears to be larger than v1 and allows my 3rd party charge cable to work now. Anyone else notice the larger opening on the power port?

The port opening was wider with V2. Does the latch seem to be better? Or reinforced better??

I just sent off my v2 due to the same issue with The clip on the bottom breaking. This is ridiculous. This is my 8th case between my wife and I.

I received my "V3" on the 22nd.
And it's now 8/1/15 and the tab broke again.
And I've already submitted another warranty.
They'll get a call from me on Monday.

I hate to bring this up again. But I'm now on my 4th lifeproof case for the same thing (charging door tab broke) they are replacing it again.
Anybody else having problems??

Yes, same problems here, but I haven't been keeping track. So I just dug around, looking at my email traffic, and confirmed, to date, I'm coincidentally also on my fourth Lifeproof iPhone 6 Plus Nüüd case.

1st - Feb-Mar, 2015 (Original Pre-Order Case from Last Year - Preorder Case w/ White Speaker Membrane)
2nd - Apr-May, 2015 (Best Buy - Purchased Out of Pocket Due to Back Order - V1 - w/ Grey Speaker Membrane)
3rd - Jun-Jul, 2015 (1st Warranty Replacement of Pre-Order Case - V1)
4th - Aug-Continuing (1st Warranty Replacement of Best Buy Case - V1)

It would seem the case, based on my usage patterns, lasts for roughly a month. The same failure mode occurs on all three V1 cases, the charger port door/flapper retention tab fails. I'm on my last V1 case, and a visual inspection so far doesn't show any noteworthy defects or flaws. Though I do expect the tab to fail anytime soon, based on my previous usage patterns.

It's disconcerting as I'm not particularly hard on the case, no extreme sports or otherwise, it stays mostly in A/C or room temperature, out of my pocket majority of the time. My work environment is primarily an office area, and it stays on the charger for most the day. I would would say I open and close the charging port maybe two to three times a day, leaving home, at work, back on the charger at night. So estimated cycle count, for opening and closing in a month is roughly 90 occurrences. I hope Lifeproof engineers redesign the retention tab mechanism, but hearing that V2 cases also have the same failure mode is disappointing to say the least.

If anyone ever starts to notice the charging door doesn't seal completely on one side, it's a good time to conduct a visual inspection, confirming that a crack initiates on the side of the tab, and be weary of usage in the elements or under water.

We'll see how long this last V1 case will hold. On this last V1 case, I've started to squeeze the bottom end of the case together before swinging the flapper door open or closing it, reducing the amount of preload the tabs see during opening and closing. In the eventuality that this case goes tits up, I have a V2 warranty case as a spare from the 1st warranty case failing, and also a white/Avalanche case (some folks are calling V3) purchased just recently during the summer sale. I was hoping for a tab redesign, but unfortunately discovered it's the same, the so called "V3" is a V2, unless Lifeproof tweaked the plastics/materials used in fabrication, as far as I can tell, the only change is the box/packaging material.

The Lifeproof Nüüd case is novel and innovative case design, the only case in the market that I know of that offers native screen access, without screen protector, that adheres to Mil 810G-516.6G drop standard and IP-68 water standards, but with respect to the iPhone 6 Plus, the retention charging door mechanism leaves a lot to be desired.

Perhaps Lifeproof will released a final optimized design once the iPhone 6s Plus debuts in a few weeks? (Assuming the same external geometry of the iPhone 6s Plus and 6 Plus are the same)

Well, I received my replacement. I asked to switch colors (black>white) just incase the materials that were used is different (wishful thinking) so let's see where this goes.
While I was on the phone with them, I did ask "what if......it breaks again....." They replied with, "our folks are always looking for ways to update the case, but if it happens again, we will send you another one" If, it breaks again, I think I'm going to ask for my money back. I don't think I can do this anymore.

But I'm just like you, I've taken care of the case, even though it tough/rugged, and through normal use (opening the Lightning port door and closing it) the tabs break, if it's the left tab one month, it's the opposite the next.

Anyone buy the new iPhone 6s Plus and true to see if it fits the iPhone 6 Plus LifeProof cases?

Just upgraded from the iPhone 6 to the iPhone 6S Plus and really wanna get this thing in a LifeProof case.
