I don't even use the cables that came with my iPhone 5 or iPod touch 5. I have about 10 cables from amazon and reviewing samples.
Speaking for myself only, but I suspect it applies for others: The 5s is my very first device with the Lighting connector. Neither the iphone 5 nor ipad 4 were enough to get me to upgrade from iphone 4S or ipad3. My ipod for running is an old beat up 4th gen nano.
So while I have tons of chargers, they all came with 30 pin cables. Rather than rebuy charger kits, I merely bought a couple cables from Monoprice who I know sells solid stuff and will stand behind it if I should have a problem.
The reviews of the linked Amazon cables would have me a little nervous if they should quit working in a couple months; for a couple $ more per cable, I know Monoprice will stand behind them given their lifetime warranty on cables.
