I think the issue is even at $50 it won’t sell well.

Because nobody wants to strap a pair of goggles to their face to compute.

I may even buy it for $500, just to watch movies and the occasional immersive videos

In fact, I think the viewing experience with the Apple virtual cinema is astonishingly good

I think when Jobs said he’d finally figured out television, I think AVP was what he meant. A device that had several major video consuming apps from day one, like Disney+ and Paramount+, that are still not available on other headsets. With the added bonus of the immersive environments and really good quality 3D.
