I don't like the window for rearranging the iPhone Apps. It's way too user Unfriendly.
They needed to give an option for displaying multiple whole springboard pages instead of just one big and a scrollable set of small windows. It would have been much nicer.

Complicated

I didn't like the white background, but I could live with that. On the other hand, the green dot issue (swich to miniplayer) makes me crazy!!

When you have YEARS using a single and simple action, you get to used too...
When you only are using iTunes you can remember to press option before the green dot. But when your're working, using many applications and your mind is at your job, you forget about the New Issue and it becomes frustrating.

I've just downgrade to iTunes 8.2.1 again... now I can work and enjoy my music as I used to be.

Hold down OPTION while clicking the green button and it will bring up the mini player. I guess the change makes sense in that now iTunes is more like other apps wrt the green button, but at the same time it is inconvenient.
Yeah, I know how to make it work, but why the change? Why not make holding down Option maximize the window instead of changing the existing function? Kinda like when they switched to OSX and added "Shift" to the "Command +N" keystroke for creating a new folder. Stupid things like that just irritate me. Make a NEW keystroke for the NEW feature, instead of a NEW feature for an OLD keystroke and a NEW keystroke for the OLD feature.

i utterly hate the new itunes 9 for a number of reasons, the layout and navigation are totally frustrating !

For example...in column browsing a double click only takes you back to the front page and out of column viewing ! Then in column view to see the particulars of a app anywhere else but the small arrow by the name also bounces you back to the front page ??

The back arrow on the app info page bounce you back to the non column view also ... it is very slow and sluggish as well ....

I dont really care about the look of itunes ... just its usability ... and in my opinion it is NOT very usable.

With the 9.01 update i would have hoped that apple would have fixed these issues ... well that would have been hoping too much ..

BUT, in grid view I used to command+click 3 or 4 albums and hit return to open and play just those albums together. That used to be one of my favorite ways to select some music. This doesn't seem to be working anymore. Am I going crazy? When I do that, only the first album opens up. Anyone else notice this?

That is the #1 feature I miss from iTunes 8 and I see no reason why it should've been removed. I do it with TV shows too, often wanting to look through multiple seasons or select all of one show and browse through, but now I can't. It's very frustrating.

I hate that pushing the green button no longer brings up the Mini Player. Who the hell needs to maximize an iTunes window???

This totally went away when i did the update (9.0.1) It works just like it did before!! I couldn't live without the mini player

The mini-player was still there in 9.0 but you had to hold OPTION while clicking the green button. Now you hold OPTION for the maximize behaviour, exactly the opposite of the 9.0 behaviour.

Hmm, I've only had a few stability issues, but I agree with you. I've started to get used to the look of it now, but still liked the black better for a background...and the story is sooo messy!

I love the new layout, some aesthetics like light backgrounds are a bit weird, but over all looks really good (including the new iTunes layout).

Something that bugs heck out of me is how buggy it is, crashing freezing and the likes.

I wish I had a time-machine backup.

Trouble is TM doesn't work with FileVault and FileVault is *mandatory* if you're using a laptop and you've any concern about security. (TM sees the FV partition as a single file - I don't believe this is fixed in 10.6)

Sorry for the late reply, but Time Machine DOES work with FileVault if you upgrade to Leopard/SL-style FileVault. If you upgraded OS X from Tiger already using FileVault, you have the old style. To get the new, turn OFF FileVault, let it unpack everything, and then turn it back on. If you’re paranoid enough, you might want to securely erase free disk space after you do that. But the good news is, Time Machine will now be friendly with FileVault, and won’t backup your whole home folder every hour.

FWIW iTunes is now usable for me for the first time in a year.

iTunes 8 was a nightmare on my computer - slow to load, laggy, lots of crashing and freezing. Yuck. I had to launch it twice every time I wanted to use it because without fail I'd have to wait for it to launch the first time, then it would freeze and would need me to force quit it then relaunch it before it would "work".

Homesharing and Genius Mixes are also the first useful features that have been added in yonks. And I like the new layout for browsing music a lot.

I like iTunes 9, but then again, it looks almost the same as iTunes 8! lol. The only difference is lighter shades and a less bloated store... But the downside is that it is slightly slower than 8. But it's never crashed on me or anything :D

to be honest, I don't notice a difference. It's still as lame as always, but I still use it as my default importer since it's missing things like folder monitoring, and I can't sync my iPod with WMP :(
