Limera1n Bugs

Did you load up the Limera1n app on your iPhone and do the Cydia install from there?

I have a 16gb 3GS iPhone. I was running 3.x.x (can't remember exactly maybe 3.1.2)....whatever the latest was with the spirit jailbreak. I did a sync with my updated iTunes on my Mac, and then updated to 4.1 through iTunes as one would normally do. I downloaded Limera1n (v4) on my media PC (connected to my TV) and hooked my iPhone up there, ran it, installed Cydia, restarted, and it's running great. MyWi even remembered all of my settings and my carrier name (changed from AT&T to my name remained as well).

Unfortunately it never even appeared....tried it 3 times and restored it twice...every time it says its been successful but it obviously hasn't lol...theres only so many hours in the day so I think i'll wait until its out of beta or CDT bring something stable out..

same here ive ran lime rain 3 times so far now and the lime rain app hasnt appeared on my phone yet. it shows the lime rain drop on the screen when in dfu mode but the app is not on my springboard.
 
i got the icon to show up by resetting all content and settings however that totally screwed up my cellular service so now im restoring to try all over again.

lol...I'm on my 4th full restore....will try with RC1...i managed to get limera1n on last time but after rebooting had to DFU as it was in an endless cycle :eek:

edit - working now it seems....dear knows but I'll not crow!
 
I wouldn't worry about bugs guys. Worst case scenario you can just restore if you have major problems after jailbreaking, not like you're going to lose anything. Just make sure you save your SHSH files in case apple decides to release their 4.2 or some kind of intermediate update to patch the exploit.

Besides, it says on the Dev Team blog that Geohot is fixing the bugs and updating the jailbreak constantly, so most of the bugs that people have talked about here probably don't even exist anymore if you jailbreak again. Worse comes to worse just restore and you're back to plain old 4.1. Just don't forget to save SHSH blobs!

What gen is your iPhone?
 
One thing i've noticed is when i jailbroke with comex's jailbreak, the first thing i installed is sbsettings, my memory was at around 565 mb. Now that i jailbroke with limerain, and just installing sbsettings, it is constantly at 346 mb. Not sure whats up with it, but i'm gonna re jailbreak tonight to see if it comes out any different. Anyone else with this sort of issues.

Iphone 4 only have 512MB of RAM.
Are you related to gizmodo AND WENT TO A BAR RECENTLY. jk :eek:

i noticed the same Sh#$ as well, my memory went from 500+ to 300ish.
 
err, i wanna update to the latest version of limera1n! i hope to get my 400-500MB of memory back!

Ok, calm down crackheads. All I know is that my free mem was more without limerain. Ima check my old screenshots cause maybe I was on snow backthen.

Limera1n Bug List:

Icons from apps randomly disappear and reappear when going though pages on the springboard. SOLUTION: Respring.

Youtube not working after using Limera1n. SOLUTION: In Cydia, add the source: http://cmdshft.ipwn.me/apt/

Can't get the push notifications to work. SOLUTION: Install Push Doctor. (Reinstall if it doesn't work the first time.)

Can open Cydia but the app is blank after opening. SOLUTION: Restart your device.

You can call someone but they can't hear you. SOLUTION: Restore and Jailbreak again.

Can't access root files with SSH or iFile. SOLUTION: Install Afc2 from Cydia and restart your device.

No Cydia app after install from Limera1n App. SOLUTION: Restart your device.

I purchased MyWi and My3G (before Cydia bought out Rock) now I'm gettin trial licenses instead of the purchased licenses I should be getting after I used limera1n, anyone have this issue or similar to it?

MMS not working for me with latest limera1n. I'm on an iPhone 4, iOS 4.1 w/ latest. I have AT&T, and MMS toggled on. Any one else with this issue? :/ I'm going to restore with greenp0ison as it was just released.
 
I don't know if this is a Limera1n bug, but I put a folder in the bottom right corner... Left my phone for a couple hours, used my phone, and saw this. I moved icons from my dock, but I can't access/move the folder at all! Anybody have this problem?

Of course you don't, not everyone has these bugs. These are just reported bugs, some in isolated cases. I stated it in the original post, this list of bugs does not mean everyone will get them.

Have you tried respringing?
 
not sure if limera1n related or not, but restored my gf phone (16gb i4) to 4.1, ran limera1n. as she was syncing her stuff back onto it, she got an error something like disk not accessible, and phone went to apple screen. never booted up, so i tried to restore, no luck. put it into dfu (yes i know what i'm doing), no luck, restore just hangs at waiting for iphone. tried to restore on 3 diff computers, 2 macs, 1 pc, with 2 diff iphone cords. no luck. tried re-running limera1n to see if maybe the problem was that the untether part didn't take. nope.

she's taking it to the apple store for a replacement today. hope it was a fluke and not a limera1n issue. i did my iphone (32gb i4) earlier in the day with no problems at all.
