There is no way you are getting a phone tomorrow if you arent already lined up. I just walked by the Apple Store w14street NYC.

The Apple Store Employee said I didnt need to stand in line as I already have a phone. Its strictly for people who haven't purchased one yet.

There's a line at the Apple store in the Metrotown Mall in Vancouver. I saw pictures on Facebook last night, hehe.

Oh, an Apple store in a city with 9 million people in it has a line...

This store usually has a small amount of people waiting relatively speaking. Last year there was maybe 60 people waiting. There are hundreds already

To be fair. Manhattan Apple stores are something different.

Usually its just 5th ave or SOHO. Ill take some better picks when I go out tonight. Even the slow stores are packed with lines of people thats the point. If I had gotten in line last year at this time I wouldve been first one in line by at least 3hrs.

They usually have a special line for people looking to buy a launch day iPhone, yes. And they should have some sort of system where they'll walk down the line front to back and give you a token for the model you are seeking. This lets you know if they have it in stock before you wait the whole line, and ensures they will have it for you once you get in. When they start with that process, I don't know, they obviously need to inventory the stock first, which as I understand it does not happen until that morning because they are not allowed to pre-open the large shipping boxes containing the iPhones.
