I picked up my 16GB Black yesterday (the 17th) at the Burlingame store. I got there around 11:20 AM and was done and out by 12:30 or so.

I waited for 15 mins on Wednesday at Stoneridge Mall. There was only 4 people ahead of me.

Not a bad line was it....

Did you see everyone outside. That was the first thing I did when I walked out was take a pic of it.

I take that back. It was the stonestown mall I was at. Got there at 7:15 and was first in line. Drove from Sac area at 4am to be first in line. I wasn't taking any risks

Good to hear; I've been keeping a close eye on the Stonestown Store and it's been pretty consistent. I've got my 3G iPhone Black, but I need to get a 3G iPhone White for the better half, and we need to do back-up and restore on the Mac Pro at the house for her old iPhone and the 3G iPhone...

Glendale Galleria

I did not buy a phone but I was at the maul to get some clothes for my kid.

There were about 40 poor souls standing in line outside of the store along one of the ramps. Man, that was sad.

I was just at the apple store in Santa rosa, they had 8GB and 16GB whites. I managed to pick myself up an 8GB :)

I'm loving it :D

seems like CA bay area was not a good place to buy a phone. virtually nothing seems to be getting shipped to the AT&T stores and the "guarantee" of 1 week delivery. fastest way youll get the phone etc etc is just flat out garbage. i tried going to the store yesterday only to be told.. we have no idea. tried calling customer service today.. no idea. she tried to call the store and was surprised to find they woulndt answer the phone. and her only recommendation was to go to the nearest apple store. someone who ordered at either the same time or a few minutes after me at the same store received their phone yesterday meanwhile there are 18 on the queue in front of me and no signs of shipping ever going to happen. odd that i could stroll to apple before i can get them to ship me a phone.

so much for the economy being bad and no one having disposable income.

Valley Fair in San Jose is out. Went this evening just to check them out and they have a sign at the door saying they are out.

Played with the demos and noticed the rough seams where the plastic meets the bezel, all of the buttons feel cheaper than v1 buttons, and it took much longer than expected to load websites via 3G. Overall, just didn't feel as solid as my v1. I'll pass on this one.

Sigh....I checked the Availability page around 10 PM tonight (Friday the 18th) and noticed that the SF store now has ALL models in stock. (and the other stores were all still out of stock) So I got all excited and was getting ready of going to the SF store tomorrow morning, but then I checked again 5 minutes ago (just after midnight) and now the SF store says it is out of all models.

That's weird.

And depressing.

I went to the Apple Store at Stanford Mall around 11:30am today and they has *just* received their shipment for the day (they had the "out of iPhone 3G" sign out earlier in the morning when we walked by). There were only 4 people ahead of us in the line. We had phones in 15 minutes. We lingered in the store a bit but when we left around 12:30 there were maybe 30 people in line.

You may have read on other threads that you can view the iPhone availability page during the day if you change the clock on your machine (it's just a Javascript time check). Turns out the stock updates somewhat realtime during the day. This was the case for the two Palo Alto stores at least. Shows no stock the night before, then around 11am if they get a shipment it goes green, then as the models sell out it started changing, until finally, all out of stock again.

I hear the Apple Stores got a big shipment of new stock today. The San Francisco store has black 8 and 16 GB models. Anyone seen the lines?

So, its 6:39 pm on Tuesday (22nd). I set my clock to 9pm so I could access the Apple inventory site. It says that they have stock of the 8 and 16 GB black model. I JUST called the Apple store and asked if they had any stock and they said they were out of ALL phones.

I checked the Apple site again and it still says that they have 8 and 16 GB black models. It has said that all day so I guess that means that they don't update their site as often as we thought. (or the Apple rep is considering the current line outside the store and knows they won't have enough stock tonight for anyone else that joins the line.

(sigh) Did any of YOU get an iPhone today?

there's no shortage where i live!!!

i live in san diego, ca. and the apple store down the street from me (UTC Mall) has iPhones every day. i got mine the Sunday when it first launch and i only waited in line for 40 minutes.

I called Emeryville about 4:30. The guy said they had ‘em, but looking at the line he said it was unlikely they’d last the day, and in fact they were considering ending the line.

If I was ATT, I’d be pissed. At the rate these phones are trickling out, they’re losing a LOT of business. If these were easier to get, ATT would have had a month of my money. Now it looks like another month before I’ll bother to go get one. Not to mention they can’t be doing much else in the stores.

Are they ever gonna sell these online?

I got one yesterday at stonestown. Everyone who was in line with me got one, and the only reason the line got shut down was because they could only activate a certain number of phones by 9pm. There were also many people who bought multiple phones. I know at least one guy bought 5.

Walked by the apple store in downtown SF and there was a line with ~60 people at 630pm, and the line wasn't cut off yet. From the lines that I've seen, the downtown SF store gets iphones almost every day, and a lot of them. Which makes sense, it is the flagship west coast store.

after posting my last message, I walked to the SF Apple store. (its just a 15 minute walk away) Even though the lady on the phone said that they were sold out of all models, I asked one of the Apple employees, and he said that there were iPhones still available, but the wait was going to be 2-3 hours. (it was a little after 7 pm)

I proceeded to the back of the line, but there was another Apple store employee standing their saying that no more people are allowed to join the line. (because they wouldn't be able to service anymore and close shop by 9pm)

I get off work around 6pm each day which is probably around the time that they either sell out or cut off the line. I think the only way I can get one is if I go on my lunch break. I wonder how long the lines are at noon or 1pm. If its less than 2 hours, I'd definitely go on my lunch break.
