I'll stick with my Asus MESH system with its VPN capability. Secure tunnel from local public sites. Plus, same from overseas but tricks system to think I am in the USA and locally blocked programs (like NFL games) are available.

Interesting. Ive been researching mesh home networking this week and was sold on the AmpliFi HD but might have to look into this now...

The Amplifi is much better (IMO), but their WiFi 6 isn't yet in white - only black. Must have white for a high WAF.

Hmm.. anyone have experience with the
Orbi WiFi 6 DOCSIS® 3.1 Mesh WiFi System with Built-in Cable Modem (CBK752)? I literally just ordered it and saw the news on this.

for wifi 6 mesh, the price is pretty good. velop was the most expensive for awhile there. this is very competitive. i have the current velop right now. one did fry during a lightening storm but otherwise, I've been happy

I still have PTSD from my Linksys BEFSR41 router at the dawn of the DSL era. Frankly amazes me they still use that brand.

Been very pleased with my Eero mesh network 👍

If you like software updates stay away from Linksys. Someone new will acquire them and the older products become obsolete. It happened multiple times.

For anyone who's into networking. Have all router vendors settled on one Wifi 6 standard yet? Last time I checked the consensus was to hold off until we would see one common industry standard.
I have been holding off on wifi 6 MESH, though I was about ready to order the Amplifi system. Velop has been my second choice.

With eight HomePods, Apple TV, MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPad, AppleWatch, AirPods Pro, and soon to be a Panasonic Toughbook 55 to replace the MacBook. I still use my faithful AirPort Extreme Base Station for its sustained reliability and ease-of-use but it's time upgrade.

Has anyone used these in a home that is 100% concrete/cinderblock walls? Curious to see how range is affected as Lynksys usually expects sheetrock style walls for their range numbers.

Hard pass until 6e routers become common.
I've been tracking Wifi 6 routers for some time now. Waiting for them to come down to a decent price. This MIGHT do it.

May was well wait for 6e at this point. 6 isn't much benefit over 5, and running in AX lessens the performance of AC devices.

Does this or Amplifi allow you to turn on/off 5Ghz? Some of my smart devices don't connect well because they are 2.4Ghz only and keep trying to connect to 5Ghz band.

These support homekit, correct? I'm in the market for a wifi 6 mesh system and am trying to decide between something like this and eero. I've always owned linksys routers. Eero is definitely on the pricier side.

I wish these linksys came in a 2 pack.
I have an Eero and I love it. It's so simple, and like Apple..it just works.

I just got this notification in an email. I have the linksys WiFi 6 AX5300 system that‘s priced at $699 (got it for $499 during a promotion). I’ve tried to find the differences between the two as the new ones are $499 for 3 nodes. There must be more features on the AX5300 otherwise if this is their flag ship Wi-Fi 6 system then the prices seem off.
Balls. I just bought a solo MX5300 a few days ago. Have been loving it so far.

Despite this new router being the flagship, if it only has 8 bands (which the AX4200 name suggests) compared to the MX5300’s 12 bands it seems like the lesser option. Albeit cheaper.

I tested products in my home and Velop won. It's been fine but I'd like WiFi6.

Recommended my Velop to a friend and he's had nothing but frustration, with satellites disconnecting.

Folks recommending other products as "better" should elaborate on why they feel this way.

Run, don’t walk away from Velops. Absolutely horrible hardware and software. My 2013 AirPort Extremes proved to me more reliable than the Velop tri bands I bought to replace them.

Not my experience at all. I replaced an Airport Extreme with a Velop mesh network and couldn't be happier. Rock solid and fast. Definitely will look at these for WiFi 6.

Ok for anyone wondering there are quite a few difference between the new AX4200 and the MX5300. They have just dropped the price of the solo MX5300 from £350 to match the AX4200 at £250 also.

AX4200 MU-MIMO Tri-Band Gigabit, 600+1200+2400 Mbps
AX5300 MU-MIMO Tri-Band Gigabit, 1147+2402+1733 Mbps

1.4GHz Quad Core Processor
2.2 GHz Quad-Core Processor

3 Gigabit LAN + 1 Gigabit WAN
4 Gigabit LAN + 1 Gigabit WAN

40+ Devices
50+ Devices

2700 square ft coverage
3000 square ft coverage

Flash: 512MB; RAM: 512MB
Flash: 512MB; RAM: 1GB

2.08 lbs
3.5 lbs

Both are same size
Both have USB 3 for external storage.

So I appreciate the AX4200 is the new 'Flagship' as it's way cheaper. But also isn't quite as specced out as the older one.

I just bought an MX5300 at the weekend for £350 and now its dropped to £250. Just spoke with amazon chat and they're refunding the difference. :)

Does the Amplifi Wifi 6 router come in mesh?
The Amplifi Alien WiFi 6 has a two router mesh option or or you can "mesh together" (sorry) 2 or three of the stand alone Aliens... They aren't cheap but my single Alien, which replaced my beloved Extreme, now gives me stronger signal everywhere in my 2000 sq ft house.

I have to ask ... is anyone here that has one of these Mesh routers also have a home internet provider that forces their modem to be a modem and router??

I have AT&T Gigabit Fiber, and they force me to rent their modem/router combo. Logging into the modem and going into its settings, I disabled the wifi radios to essentially make it a modem only. I then plugged in my own router/mesh system to the AT&T modem. I don't recall if it was plug and play, or if I needed to check off a box for bridge mode. I had found the instructions on forums with a google search, since many people want to do this. I have had no issues, getting full speeds, and happy to be using my own router.
