Mission control,

assign a diff key for Mission Control ex. "L Shift", then return it to default control+up.

the L shift will still work as a hot key.

That was a waste of time

you can't install over Lion

even using the boot c drive method because my HDTV and HDMI from apple don't handshake so i have no way of knowing if i am in the boot drive or not as the screen is black

took me twenty minutes to even get back into Lion

seems powering down taking power cable out for 15 secs, put power cable back in but wait 10 secs before you switch it on then move your mouse around till the Lion home screen appears , should take about 45 secs anything long and the screen just stays black

Apple, better come up with a fix soon ;

because if you turn off your TV you lose the HDMI handshake and if you turn off your Mac using Lion software and turn it on again it won't find the HDMI handshake, else you have to keep your TV and Computer on 24/7, thats not going to do much for their green causes

MIDI playback in Lion using Quicktime Player 7 is horribly buggy. Doesn't crash, but MIDI files don't sound anything at all like they sounded on Snow Leopard. The volume seems to change randomly.

Not a Lion issue per say but the latest Java update really messed up my imac, now Safai "Quit" is greyed out and things in general are acting wierd.
Four finger swipe was not working on the mini but the three is, other than that most things seem good.

Few minor problems I've had that haven't been noted yet:

1) Web pages stop loading periodically. This problems occurs the same for Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. Restarting all web browsers corrects the problem usually, so most likely not a WiFi issue.

2) Youtube/Vimeo videos - the video shows the preview image ONLY and the sound plays, but none of the visuals change.

3) Sometimes when a new web page loads and I attempt to scroll on the Magic Mouse, it activates the zoom feature on the page which cannot be undone unless I refresh the page.

Sadly, Apple doesn't listen to a damn thing people say on the internet. Only after "x" amount of people complain about the same thing at the Genius Bar do they do something.

In this case, I'm not sure it matters what people say online or at the store. PPC is no longer supported. They kept up support for it for years, but have obviously moved on now. I highly doubt it will be coming back.

Loading user

Sometí es lion does not load The user properly, causing no wifi connection at all. Have reinstalled The OS twice and The dame thing happens.

  • In Text Edit, Command - makes text smaller while Command + makes this weird toolbar with widgets pop up and little X's on the screen. (This happens randomly and computer restart seems to cure it)

Heh, that one's somewhat comical. Can't get it to happen here, though.

Same exact problem here... tried resetting pram, turning on without hdmi plugged in till after turned on and nopes. Next thing I'm trying is buying a mini displayport to vga adapter and a vga cable as the tv has that connection too... if it works like that i'll have 30 days return time on those cables and hopefully apple fixes the issue within that time... or i um return and buy another lot of cables? Okay that last part would be bad. But this seems like a big issue they'd fix quickly you'd think considering how many users have mac mini's connected to tv's for media purposes?

Today I'm going back to Snow Leopard, in Apple's mantra it works - Lion doesn't

Next time I'm waiting 3 months before i upgrade any new Apple OS software

My biggest gripe is the HDMI using my TV - turn mac off and start up later HDMi won't display, so computer is on but i can't see nothing, just a black screen.

It worked fine in Snow Leopard, so it's obviously Lion at fault

I have had a problem when trying to wake my MacBook up from the screensaver, I get the option to type in my password but it just takes me straight back to the screensaver. The only way to solve it (that I found) was to reset the computer.

my only drama is the wifi not working after installing lion on 2 2010 model imacs

however the install on 2011 mac book pro no faults wifi works no problem

i wiped both imacs re- installed SL hoping 10.7.1 update fixes this

Wacom Tablet and Lion OS X

Here'a a really weird one that took forever for me to figure out.

I use photoshop CS5 with a Wacom Graphire4 tablet (I know it's really old). The trackpad on my Macbook Pro used to work normally when I momentarily switch back to it from using the tablet. Now, if I use the trackpad to drag and drop anything in Photoshop, it just pops back to a few pixels away where it originated from.

I know what you're thinking, update the Wacom driver. I did that and nothing happened. I thought well maybe my tablet is just old. So I went to work with my Macbook and plugged in a newer Intuos tablet and – get this – my trackpad was working fine, except now the Intuos mouse was having that same drag and drop issue it had from before!

When I unplug the tablet, the issue remains and I'll have to restart my machine to get rid of the bug.

Try using Photoshop without the ability to drag and drop elements and see how far you get with it.

App Store doesn't let me download anything. It just hangs forever.

I do have a backup up & working version of the App Store on Time Machine, but unfortunately it won't let me restore it ("App Store can't be modified because it's part of OSX") and nobody in the entire world knows how to help me with this issue.

New bug for me - Screensaver & Desktop keep crashing when I try to access them. I know this was working in 10.7, but am using 10.7.1, and crash, crash, crash. Have tried many thing suggested on forums, except reinstall. I refuse to reinstall just to change screensaver & Desktop settings. I'll live with it, till Apple fixed it in, hopefully in 10.7.2.

Safari 'A' font issue with font management software. Nice that the folks behind FontAgent Pro posted a Utube video to fix this for now.

I also get random hard crashes when deleting files from external drives. Happens about once a day, when the file counter goes into the '-' range, then the system just freezes. (This bug I really don't like)

Stock market dashboard panel won't update for week, month, year!?

A few other odd/ends.

Other than this, I actually like Lion. It just need more polish!

  • Connecting my Mid 2010 Macbook pro to power after using it on battery always causes my brightness to go to max, ignoring my brightness preference.

  • Sometimes the spaces thumbnails in mission control don't render windows that are actually in that space.

  • Fullscreen apps will sometimes spawn child windows or property sheets that can get lost under the main window. In one case Xcode 4 opened a modal dialog that got stuck under the main window when I navigated to another space and back. I had no other option but to force-quit.

  • The performance of the integrated GPU, an Intel HD in my case, is terrible. I'm using 10.5.8 on a a 2004 Dual G5 with a 9600xt and the GUI performance on that is significantly snappier than Lion's is on my 2010 Macbook pro.

I really don't think Mission Control is meant to look like this...

Every now and then Safari brings me to a blank white page. Not a big deal. Since it doesn't freeze or crash, I can just click to get another page. But I've never experienced that before.

About that mission control...
The top one is how its supposed to look with Safari and Software Update. The bottom one is iTunes and Software Update, but the windows are all shuffled weird.
