Safari tabs-

Sometimes when you hover over a tab (with multiple tabs of course) the gray X does not appear, so you cannot close the tab. To "fix", you have to click another tab, then hover over or click on your previous tab and the X re-appears to allow you to close it. Pretty annoying.

I've seen Flash lock my iMac up twice when trying to load a youtube video. I have the latest Flash, which Adobe says is a beta for Lion. I'll just blame the beta level of Flash for the bug. I tried using the HTML5 version of youtube, and it was HORRIBLE slow. It was pretty much impossible to view the video while it was still downloading. Once the video finished downloading that way, it played fine after that.

And I can't figure out if the dock is or is not supposed to show when you hold the mouse over it's position in a full-screen app. Sometimes it pops up, sometimes it doesn't.

Seemed that way to me at first too, but no- if yours is on autohide, it will always show- you have to move the cursor around a bit at the VERY bottom (as far as you can) and it will pop up. Try it. Either way, I'm not sure if this is intended or not. I actually like it this way, but don't think it was intended by Apple since, of course, those people with the dock not on autohide won't see their dock in fullscreen apps.

• Repeatable crash bugs in iTunes Dashboard widget. This was a 6-year-old bug!! The solution was ... to remove the widget altogether. Anticlimax much? I reported it at least 28 times in those 6 years :(.

Wait a second- I thought Lion dropped the iTunes dashboard widget? For some reason, after I switched over mine was gone (not even shown in the widgets menu!). I just assumed it was meant to not be there. Does anyone know why this may have happened and how I can get it back?

I seem to be having multiple problems that others haven't been - this, problems closing tabs in Safari, and problems with Safari asking to save/ saving passwords to certain sites.

For those wondering - I did not do a clean install, just the update over SL

The dock is way slow to appear when attempting to "unhide" it in fullscreen mode.

Control+two-finger scrolling to zoom doesn't appear to work in full screen mode but continues to work as normal in non-fullscreen mode.

When swiping to go backwards or forwards a page in Safari, rather than taking me back to where I was somewhere down on the target page, it takes me back there, then pauses to reload, and pops me back to the top of the page. It's annoying.

Scrolling in list view in a Finder window produces garbled text. Lion is having trouble rendering the image of the window.

Speaking of list view in Finder windows, I can no longer resize columns? Really?

I know it's not a bug, but I HATE that the Library folder is hidden. That should be a selectable option.

Aperture is ridiculously slow in fullscreen mode.

I'm on a 27" iMac (12,2) with 3.4Ghz i7 processor/12gb RAM/2TB HD/Radeon 6970M

Bug - Desktop Background

There is a option in the desktop background system preferences to have the background image change every 5 seconds, every minute, hour etc. This does not seem to work.

How can i report this to apple?

My only problem has been that Quicksilver doesn't launch at startup even though it is in my login items.
Edit:it does launch but the CTRL+SPACE shortcut key doesn't work until I manually launch it.

I have a 'hole' where the library folder used to be under my username folder and don't see how to get it back. But I also notice that if I select the mac hd it has the library folder in there. I went in it and there were 'holes' and i did right click clean up and some folders floated into the 'holes'.

the double tap to zoom doesn't work for me.

When in launchpad, if you do a 3 finger swipe in an empty space, it freezes, and then it change the page.

Adobe Flash seems to be causing crashes for me. Embedded video in Chrome and Safari has caused my new i5 iMac to lock up several times, forcing me to do a hard reboot.

Mail...
when i click on an email link on a website, it DOES NOT take me to mail.when i GO to mail, my new message is not there, it's...FLOATING between spaces...!
i can't get to it...

this has happened all 3 times i've clicked on an email link on a site!

weird...

  • Can't "Show Desktop" while in Full Screen mode.
  • Opening a window in Safari (such as the "Activity" window) while in Full Screen mode results in the window being forever lost if you click back on Safari to bring it to the foreground.
  • Reading list sometimes stops appearing in Safari.
  • Can't screen zoom with Ctrl + Scroll after a while.
  • Safari dock icon sometimes stays "selected" (the word "Safari" stays there above the icon) from time to time.
  • Scrolling in general is choppy, low frame rate compared to SL. This includes swiping between Spaces.
  • Can't rearrange Spaces manually at all (this has got to be a bug).
  • Apps don't have focus until after the Spaces Swiping animation has done animating. This can be slower than you expect meaning that you might start typing before the spaces come to a halt, losing a few characters. It's annoying.
  • Four-finger gestures are erratic and only work like 50% of the time for me. Makes Launchpad hard to use.
  • Can't "unpinch" out of launchpad, you have to do another pinch to get out.
  • Can't "pinch" out of Show Desktop: unpinch to show desktop, and you can't pinch to unshow desktop. You must redo another unpinch. Not big deal but it works with everything else.
  • Full screen in general is buggy.
  • When a website won't load, Safari proposes the Network Diagnostics tool. Well the button to launch it doesn't work.
  • iTunes Helper doesn't launch.

Spreche die Deutch

Often, but not always the language in my system notification windows will be in both German and English at the same time. My system Language is set to Latina (I know, I know), US English, <the other forms of English>, <the other forms of Spanish>, then German. I would expect Spanish before German.

However, nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.

Minor bugs:
- Mission Control sometimes does not show 'Spaces' desktops at the top >> need reboot to solve
- Expose weird behaviour not showing all opened windows like in Snow Leopard >> bug? if not, I did not understand how it works yet
- Because of restore feature, when you quit a video playing in QuickTime and open another one, it shows both videos at same time >> IMO is a bug
- Because of restore feature, Safari does not show Top Sites on Start (in Fullscreen mode) >> could be a choice when starting like: restore screen, top sites, home screen...

Cosmetic bugs:
- Launchpad sometimes shows grey cloudy background instead of your blurred desktop background >> need reboot to solve
- Putting Public folders in Finder Sidebar (cmd+t) does not show its proper icon, just a clean folder icon >> IMO is a bug
- iTunes in fullscreen sometimes creates a black area at the bottom (exactly the size of Dock list) >> close and open fullscreen

I just found another one. When in safari in full screen mode, I three finger swipe to the desktop and the Safari toolbar stays there. But then she I quit safari and re-open it doesn't happen.

Smart Folder Show Search Criteria Disappearing

Unable to change Smart Folder search criteria once the Smart Folder has been saved. When you choose the option Show Search Criteria the criteria disappears.

I tried doing a re-index of spotlight on all my drives and can easily duplicate the behavior on several Macs.

Headphones don't work

I'm having some trouble with my headphones. When I plug my headphones into my MacBook they aren't recognized. The audio keeps playing through the internal speakers and I get nothing in my headphones. This isn't a huge problem right now but in a month or so when I go back to school it will be an issue as I need my headphones working. I saw a bug in the developers that was similar. The fix was in the audio midi setup to change from 2ch-16bit to 2ch-32bit and I've done that but still no dice.

Don't know if this was mentioned yet, but it's a pretty huge issue. When waking iMacs that have upgraded to Lion from full sleep (meaning the hard drive sleeps), attempting to play videos (be it Flash, QuickTime, iTunes videos, or even video-rendering programs) results in a freeze. The mouse can move, but nothing is clickable.

It's discussed more in depth in this thread here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1196498/

Apple Support forum has pages after pages of people reporting the same issue, who have also upgraded to Lion.

Sometimes in Safari, no matter what you page load, it displays the image of a different webpage. See, in the Address Bar, it says apple.com, but the webpage shown in nytimes.com. Also the webpage you see (in this case nytimes.com), you can't interact with it.

This little bug "bugs" me the most since my iMac is in the same room as my ATV2....

Whenever I sleep the screen on my iMac and stream a movie from iTunes to my ATV2, the screen only iMac will come on (to the lock screen) every 30 second to a minute. Very annoying with a bright 27" screen.

  • Mouse +control zoom feature randomly stops working. Have to restart computer the get it working again. Works about an hour then I have to restart again.
  • In Text Edit, Command - makes text smaller while Command + makes this weird toolbar with widgets pop up and little X's on the screen. (This happens randomly and computer restart seems to cure it)

Today I'm going back to Snow Leopard, in Apple's mantra it works - Lion doesn't

Next time I'm waiting 3 months before i upgrade any new Apple OS software

My biggest gripe is the HDMI using my TV - turn mac off and start up later HDMi won't display, so computer is on but i can't see nothing, just a black screen.

It worked fine in Snow Leopard, so it's obviously Lion at fault
