This is mine on Verizon FiOS. They advertised it at 25/25 and it's pretty accurate.

Edit: If the connection is wired its faster? This is based on a wireless connection.

Edit: This is my connection on wired.

We poor DSL folks measure in kbps. Since I use my Macbook for my main computer, I will often take it my local public library where the wi-fi is faster than my DSL at home. Otherwise, I download and watch tv, get a snack, read a book, etc.

You might want to check your equipment (splitter etc) if you're getting very low speeds; as you can see above I'm getting over 12 Mb/s. Even if you're a long way from the nearest exchange/node you should still get a few meg.

Won't take too long. I'll probably download at work, actually, I get about twice that speed there.

And that's just what that little test thing says. I use iStat Menus and I've never seen it go over 400 KB/s. I'm not complaining, I've DLed the developer preview and that wasn't so bad.

I did quite a bit of downloading there last summer...

764MBit/s? Is that photoshopped?
That's 95.5 mb/s.. if Lion is 4GB you'd download it in 50sec more or less lol.
My speed gets to about 4 mbit/s, tried convincing my parents to switch to Orange 20MB for half the price but they "are too old to be playing around with the internet" haha x)

Seems peak download bandwidth recently has been around 16 MegaBytes/s.

I don't understand why Apple wont offer it on physical media, too many people with slow connections.

I have a feeling this is going to be a very bad launch.

Mine typically is 12.5/1, so it won't be too bad.

In the US, at least where I am, you can get the speeds like in Korea or Germany, they are just expensive, and American's are usually cheap... example: WalMart.

My ISP (and employer) can supply me with 30/3 on my existing phone lines, but there is no limit if I wish to pay for installation.

It took just shy of 2 hours to download XCode 3, and that was 4.1GB.

I really hope Apple doesn't wait until their usual 10AM USA time to release Lion, because that will be 6PM here in the UK, and I don't want to wait until ~8:30pm (after installation) to begin using the new OS.

NBN in Australia ? We'll be waiting for many thousands of years before we see that.

The only fibre coming to Australia is Al-bran.

Hehe, but lucky me I'm in the second phase testing area so I'll hopefully be getting it put in this/next month and activated before the end of the year :p

Good luck hope it all works out.

Seems mega expensive though, 100/40 Mbps 200 Gbytes $139.95.

Australia is so far behind the times.
