Wouldn't it make more logical sense to bring down the apple store and app store at around midnight to refresh it so that they can spread the traffic instead of bringing them down during the day and have everyone hit it at once.

With the amount of time i've spent here waiting for lion, i could have walked to the zoo and saw a real lion (if they were open this early)

so it's 1pm here in London, last i heard no new MBA's in the apple store on Regent Street

Presume that means they won't be wheeling the new one out today then?

I can't imagine they'd release them in the afternoon.... Or do you think there's a (slim) possibility they've been told to keep them out the back until Lion is released this afternoon?

When the 2011 MBP came out the store was down for about 4 hours. It came back up at around 2pm selling the new macs. Once this had happened I called the covent garden store who said they would release them at 4pm.

at least thats how I remember it :)

Don't do it that way. If you are going to do a fresh install anyway, then extract the image of Lion and burn it do a DVD or put it on USB Stick / Disk.
Boot from it and install Lion from scratch.

look at:

http://osxdaily.com/2011/06/08/create-burn-bootable-mac-os-x-lion-install-disc/

That's brilliant thanks for the link.

I read about burning it onto a disk before but didn't think I had any blank DVD's...but I just found a whole stack of 4.7gb DVD-R's, that should be enough space, shouldn't it?

You know... we never considered the idea that perhaps Lion was poached.

God, I can't stand poachers.

We may never see Lion.
