Following reports that Apple Watch Edition stock will be limited to select Apple Stores in the United States and other launch countries, MacRumors has discovered that Apple's Find Locations tool enables prospective buyers to search their local area to check for Apple Watch Edition availability. Below, we have identified some of the major cities and metropolitan areas in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong and Japan that will carry the Edition.

To check Apple Watch Edition availability in your local area, navigate to Apple's Find Locations website, click on Sales, use your current GPS-based location or enter another one, select Watch Edition from the list of all products, and click on the Go button. A map will then display nearby Apple Store locations that will be carrying the Edition. If you live outside the United States, you will need to change the country flag in the top right first.

Apple Watch pre-orders and try-on appointments begin April 10, and the device officially goes on sale April 24 in the first wave launch countries listed above. We will update this post if we come across any other locations carrying the Edition.

I asked at my local store and he said I'd have to go to the flagship store if I wanted to see the Edition in person.

He also said they were supposed to be getting the new MacBook in tomorrow, but wouldn't be, and he wasn't sure why, but he thinks they wanted to focus on the Watch.

I still can't comprehend dropping $10-17k on a first gen product that will be outdated in a year. (But I guess to some folks, that's not a lot of money)

I am not surprised by the limited locations Edition is available at. If you can drop 17k for an Apple Watch edition you can afford a plane ticket, fly to the store and back to get one.

The name Apple Watch Edition just makes less sense every time I read it.

No Las Vegas location? But what if I win real big!? Lol

[Editor's Note: I have updated the list to include Las Vegas as it should have.]

Meant to be a joke, but good to know. ##

That's a surprisingly short list.

One can find (real) Rolex Presidents in jewelry stores in just about any Mall. Smaller malls may hardly ever sell one but showing one can drive sales of lower-priced alternatives. Once one contemplates $17K (even in wildest fantasies), prices at $1200 or $1000 can seem like bargains.

It's a very common jewelry-industry tactic to display the President to shock an interested buyer (with the price tag reveal) and then show them another Rolex that probably costs 50 times more than the one they have on their wrist and it will seem much more affordable. In college, I sold a ton of Rolex watches via that very scenario.

However, it doesn't work the other way. If they look at a Rolex look-a-like from Seiko or similar at a few hundred dollars, it almost never leads to the sale of a Rolex President.

Even with the security risk, I'm surprised Apple didn't go with one in just about every store. Stock 1 or 2 for those who would actually buy one on the spot and be ready to rush more in as they sell. At $17K, they could even do "white glove" delivery and in-home setup if they ran out of stock of that model.

Wait, what? Why Eaton Centre and not Yorkdale? The Yorkdale Apple Store is the larger of the two, the one that gets all the Apple products and sends them to the other Apple Stores in Toronto (according to an employee that I spoke to), has consistently more foot traffic than the Eaton Centre one, AND is the first Apple Store to show up in Canada, and yet it doesn’t have the Apple Watch Edition in Yorkdale? What gives? Do they not like Yorkdale or something?

Not that I care too much (I’m buying the Steel one), but I find that to be very odd.

Wow they missed the mark in Canada

With Vancouver being classed the second most expensive city in the world to live in, you have to wonder why they didn't include the apple watch edition here?! Oh well I certainly don't care..

If you can drop 17k on the Watch, you can afford a plane ticket to any of the locations with the Edition watch available. Or hell, even drive to Seattle shouldn't cost much more than the taxes you probably saved.

I fully agree! I would never even consider that kind of money for a first generation product, that no doubt will be significantly better in a year.

If someone can afford one of them, and is willing to pay for it, they can probably afford many- so it won't make a difference to them.

But you got to account for the Financial District is closer to the Eaton Centre location than the one at Yorkdale. Yorkdale seems more expensive but is it really more expensive than Fairview or even Square One?
