Yeah I just confirmed this myself. So it looks like Apple Music is tied to your Apple ID country, and Beats 1 is geo-restricted.I have an account from USA and im living in Uruguay, the only thing that doesn’t works is Beats 1

You must use a VPN and then works fineYeah I just confirmed this myself. So it looks like Apple Music is tied to your Apple ID country, and Beats 1 is geo-restricted.
Correct. This is how I listen to Beats 1.You must use a VPN and then works fine
You can insert the Beats 1 Radio stream into any Internet Radio app, VLC Player, Android or something:
http://itsliveradio.apple.com/streams/hub01/session01/256k/prog.m3u8
No need to use iTunes or Apple gear.
OK, that's not so good. I thought the stream itself might not be geo-fenced. It still works great on my Yamaha stereo receiver though which does Webstreaming.Nice find! Apple is still checking the IP address, though (the stream wouldn't load until I turned on VPN).
Yeah bit annoying. they need a better error message then just "Unable to Start Station".
They just played Gimme Shelter and Paint it Black, back-to-back. So a bit ironic that you complained of no Rolling Stones. Perhaps people should wait for more than 2 songs before proclaiming what "type" of music Beats 1 plays. They haven't even been on a full 24 hours.I tuned in, and it really seems to have the issue everyone predicted for a "single radio station for everyone". The music just isn't to my taste. It seems to very much focus on the teenage audience.
Way too much autotune and vocoder for my liking. Almost every song has the "Cher Effect" (and a rap solo).
BBC has Radio 1, Radio 2, etc... Apple needs the same. It may come in time, but for now, it seems they've gone for something to appeal to a teenage audience.
There's a reason that BBC Radio 2 has an audience share three times that of BBC Radio 1... a larger audience exists for adult contemporary music and AOR than for chart hits. Hopefully Apple realises this soon.
Not available in Taiwan?? Interesting.
I don't understand how iTR was basically in 1 country for 'decades' but this is everywhere at release.
All the sudden they could make agreements with Beats? Weird. Just because of Jimmy?
What happens if you signed up for Apple Music in a supported country, then travel to an unsupported country? For music saved offline, I can't imagine any scenario other than it playing properly on your device. But what about streaming? It appears Apple is using IP address to determine location (hence people using VPNs to listen to Beats 1 Radio), so it's not clear whether streaming would continue to work outside your home country when you travel. By contrast, Spotify will stream to you worldwide (at least the premium version does), and it uses the country associated with your account to determine your "home country" (just like Apple does using the country associated with your Apple ID for the iTunes/App stores).
Apple Music Radio1 is more classic and jazz music, Beats 1 Radio is more African American oriented gangsta rapper music. What's the difference between these two?
- Apple Music Radio1
- Beats 1 Radio
Yes, but listeners generally fall into one of a few different broad groupings. Hence why the BBC has Radio 1, Radio 2, etc.
Beats is more similar to Radio 1 than Radio 2.
Yet, in the UK, Radio 2 has three times the listener base of Radio 1.
It seems Apple dropped the ball by launching with only a youth-oriented station, and not also offering an adult-contemporary station.
You must use a VPN and then works fine
The mainstream media doesn't even know Puerto Rico is part of the United States, remember how they told everyone that Sonia Sotomayor was the "daughter of immigrants". Although, there appears to be a benefit because an Apple Music subscription is only $5.99 in Puerto Rico.Completely untrue MacRumors, Apple Music and Apple Music Radio is available in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is a U.S. Territory and Apple treats it accordingly. For example, iTunes Radio, before its demise, was available in the United States (extended to Puerto Rico) and Australia. The only thing I'm having problems with is Beats 1, it's giving out a 403 error on iOS. Attached is proof that the Apple Music is available in Puerto Rico.
Really? Where is that price? I got the standard prices of $9.99 and $14.99.The mainstream media doesn't even know Puerto Rico is part of the United States, remember how they told everyone that Sonia Sotomayor was the "daughter of immigrants". I just went to apple.com and switched the "country" to Puerto Rico, although I now notice that this directs you to Apple's generic Latin America website.Really? Where is that price? I got the standard prices of $9.99 and $14.99.
This radio will now spread the U.S. rap trash among world teens. They should've make a more variable music choice for the "world radio". If it's really world radio then it should include current European, Asian etc hits. That one would be truly great and uniting station.I was really looking forward to Beats 1, I was expecting more a mix of classic rock and top 40, but being in my 40's myself, most of what they are playing is just unlistenable to me. I detest rap, and I have no idea what the hell this other stuff is they are playing, but I am clearly not the target demo. Beats 1 is a disappointment to me.
