iPhone does not use a Harddrive

The storage capacity will always get bigger over time. There will always be people who want to wait.

Sure you could fit your apps in that, but what if you want to take your movies and music with you? I say wait a bit longer.

x2

1 TB of storage might seem like a lot now, but down the road, you will probably want more, so you should wait.

Personally I'm not buying an iPhone until they come out with one that is transplanted into your brain and you can make calls by thinking.

This whole thread gets a fail for many reasons...

Once streaming songs and movies from your itunes becomes an option, there will be no need for more than 1gb of space on your phone...

unless of course you want to listen to your music at more than 56kbs or you're outside of a network connection, or you want to have a longer than 2 hour battery life, etc.

Nice try, thanks for failing ogdogg

I completely get where you are coming from!

for ppl like me who want a real phone/iPod,
i would be more than happy to wait in line for an iPhone with say 32GB or 50Gb.

so if ur like me and on the fence but would buy an iPhone with a larger HD,

I'd buy a 32gb version in a second. I just can't justify spending $500 for a 16gb music/internet/phone device that's also going to cost me $75 a month for service and texting. It's a ridiculous amount of money for me to spend in addition to my home internet service. Prices are going to drop I guarantee it.

Psst, it is $300, not $500

Unless if you somehow are not eligible to the subsidized price.

Hell, my porn collection alone is bigger than that!

I want an iPhone big enough that I can have the internet on my phone. Not the internet through my phone. I want the internet. ON. My. Phone.
:p

I changed my mind. I'm not waiting for an iPhone with 1TiB of capacity. I am waiting until the iPhone is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. Anything less is a waste of time.

If you have (current) music tastes that fill over 16 gigs of space, then props to you. I myself listen to an absurd amount of music, but not even my current tastes can fill 16 gigs. If you want a larger space for movies, and actually have the time to watch movies on a phone... fine. If not, then why are you complaining?

i dont like to have really poorly bad compressed music.
i like to burn off cds to aiff.

All the nerds correcting you can stick it! They're just sad that they went out to buy the 4 gb version. I on the other hand, like you, am waiting for an upgrade in the flash memory.

I work hard and have enough money to spend on the larger storage space. I would also use it. I have over 200 movies and more tv shows stored on external HDs for my apple TV. 16 gb is not nearly enough space to carry a proper selection of both music and movies for me.

Aside from lots of movies, I also have plenty of patience. I'll be holding out for more storage before prematurely blowing my wad on a piddly 16 gb iphone like the rest of the yahoos in this thread. :D

seriously.

besides, i thot the point was to not have to have an iphone AND an ipod in ur pocket. but just one.

and i feel like listening to one thing, and dont have it because i have only 20 songs. what can i do?

i say 20 songs bc again i dont butcher the song by compressing it to hell.

and if ur gonna split hairs about about HD AND FLASH DRIVE, its NAND FLASH CHIPS. different from a FLASH DRIVE

yeah great when u have no service and on a trip.
moron.

More Room?

I cant see why anyone would need more then 16 gigs. With Simplify media space becomes a non factor. I have over 16 gigs on my HD streaming perfectly with Simplify Media. Its awesome and NO restraints on space. Yes I do have a 16 G Blk 3G and currently have 13.5 gigs open, I do have a movie on it.........

Simplify does not alleviate the need for storage. There are times when a user may be out of network coverage (such as flying). However, I agree that 16 GB should be plenty to address those issues.

My iTunes Library is a little bit over 70 GB.

I could wait until 2010 and get an iPhone that will hold it all, or I could get the 16 GB one last month and enjoy my life.

Guess which one I chose?

I hope the wait isn't too painful for you :D!

If you always wait to buy the "perfect" technology, you'll never buy anything. Every gadget we buy is outdated before it's even released. :( Buy it and quit worrying about it!

I'm not waiting to buy "perfect" technology, just technology that is worth something to me. I do not constantly leave my computer on at home. So while streaming my media content would be nice, it is just not feasible all the time.

I hear ya, I hate compressed music too. But don't save as aiff, do Apple Lossless. Smaller file size, same quality.

yeah i used to but then i had problems when i tried to use them in some programs like after effects and stuff. im in the video and broadcast industry.

Why don't you make a pledger list of "if it gets a microSDHC slot", which would be the right thing?
