I used to think I needed a larger HD... but

Ii used to think I needed a larger HD... but currently this is what I have stored on my 16gb hd.

2 Full length feature filems (RedBelt and Bank Job)
5 episodes of Scrubs
300+ Music Videos
250+ Songs
75+ Pics
50+ Ringtones
200+ contacts
4 Pages of apps

I did not realize, you could put so much on 16gb. So after installing all this, I think 16gb is quite good.

Just my 2 cents

I cant see why anyone would need more then 16 gigs. With Simplify media space becomes a non factor. I have over 16 gigs on my HD streaming perfectly with Simplify Media. Its awesome and NO restraints on space. Yes I do have a 16 G Blk 3G and currently have 13.5 gigs open, I do have a movie on it.........

say ur on a trip somewhere?
no coverage? but you dont know 3 days ago what u want to play?

the point of the iphone was supposed to be the phone plus an ipod.
my ipod holds all my music at a hi quality.

im not waiting in line for something that doesnt do it.
thats all im saying. i just want to have all my music.

i dont even count the movies, thats a whole nother issue about being compressed bc if u wanted to plug it up to a tv it would be awful.

I pledge to buy an iPhone once you can actually make calls on it. I want to get an iPhone, i need a new iPod and that is the #1 reason that i would choose a iPhone over a BB Bold. Its not much use to get an iPhone were i live if i cant make calls with it. I work at a computer store that does LAN gaming, servicing computers, building custom computers, and on-site service, and we get alot of doctors offices and other corporate customers who ive overheard saying that they really cant get a good connection in my area (Plano, TX.)

Sorry to hear that service is sort of sketchy in your area. I get 5 full bars on both EDGE and 3G at my office, 5 full bars of EDGE and 2-3 bars of 3G at my home. I have had they very rare dropped called (but every cell phone has that) and my battery usage is equivalent to any other phone I have had.

I'm in at a 32 gig. Until that time I'm happy with my treo, razr, or wife's phone by proxy (I don't have to carry it!) in combination with my touch. I'd also appreciate some extended battery life, although the biggest factor would be increased stability of firmware 2.0+.

as stated fail for thinking iphone = HD

look I have Pandora, Simplify Media, Aim Radio, Truveo, and youtube

I really don't need any extra media on the go

with simplify media alone I have access to about 100,000 songs ( great program when it decides to work correctly)

Wirelessly posted (iphone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5C1 Safari/525.20)

I'm looking for an adapter plug and software that allows me to plug a USB flash drive into the data port on the bottom of my phone for expanded data storage. :D

Do people that have like 50GB of music actually listen to it all? because i have about 6GB and i skip most of them until i find a few of the ones i listen to.

50gb can depend on the quality.
whether its an mp3 or aiff.
50gb of mp3s is a much larger number of songs compared to 50gb of aiff songs.

but still, depending on the day and mood if u listen to different types music besides just nickelback, then yeah.

and u can have it with u all the time and not have to carry an extra item when on trips to hold music.

If the iPod touch has had 32GB for this long of a time so far, shouldn't the iPhone be close? I know the iPhone has less room to fit the flash drive of 32GB since it requires more stuff but still, I figured it would've been out by now.

And yes, 32GB is the minimum for me. Once that comes out (or larger) I'm gonna stick to my ****** RAZR on ****** T-Mobile.

THANK YOU!

No, at standard MP3 compression (160k-192k), listening to 50gb of music for 8 hours a day will yield you about three months without the same song played twice.

But you will find that a lot of people seem to have some pressing need to have the exact song that follows their every mood change throughout the day. Personally, to me, it's highly annoying. Like some people I work with who have to stop work every 15 minutes because something isn't working out, so their mood changes and they have to go find a new song to go along with that.

And really, OP, you need full cd-quality music when on the go? Is 192k-320k MP3 compression really so bad that it doesn't suffice for listening on the go? Especially when you can put 6-10 times as much music on your iPhone. I would think that quantity would outweigh quality at that point, and then maybe you could keep an iPod for all your high-quality stuff. I don't think you will see an iPhone with enough capacity to hold your entire media collection for many years. And if that's what you feel you need to hold out for, then, well...i guess you have fun with that. I'll be enjoying my phone.

not just for on the go.

but when i go to my friends place, he'll ask for my ipod for his stereo system. or my families lakeshack has a decent stereo setup.
sound quality is my opinion, u dont have to agree.

my iPhone is a business expense as well as my toy (which i got last week). if the 32GB comes out next month, i'd would ditch my 16GB in a heartbeat.

with more space comes the ability to transport my client's files easily along with holding videos, that would be great.

I like my 32GB iPod touch.

A 32GB iPhone might be enough to sway me that way. Then again, when the 32GB iPhone is released, the touch will be up to 64GB.
