List of Stores and Apps That Accept Apple Pay Payments

It's all good showing what stores or apps accept it. But doesn't matter if the cards we use does not support Apple Pay... I have only one of three cards that successfully worked.

Wow, this particular example of Apple artificially making hardware obsolete is pretty bad. Worse than Mac Mini 2011 and MacBook Air 2011 owners not being able to use Handoff, despite having the correct and necessary Bluetooth 4.0 hardware.

The reason that is doesn't work with the 5s is because there is no nfc chip in it. Therefore this is not a case of apple making the hardware 'artificially obsolete'.

NO, that's not what I'm talking about, or what that paragraph was referring to.

It was referring to using Apple Pay to pay for something within an App or a Website (this is different from physically inside a store with NFC). Apple Pay can also be used within apps on devices that support Touch ID

You see how the ipad mini 3 and ipad air 2 support this? They don't have NFC chips either. An NFC chip isn't necessary for this type of Apple Pay transaction. [Think of the example Tim Cook did, using the Target app or website, purchasing Beats headphones to be shipped to his home]

I think it means the 5s may not yet support in-app payments. The iPad Air 2 and mini 3 do not have NFC either.

EDIT: Ok maybe you aren't familiar with NFC, or contactless payments. Look for a sideways wifi logo at a credit card terminal. This is not the full list. They are more common than you think.

Oh the same NFC icons that works on my Nexus 5 from Last Nov..........

Isn't it true that the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3 do not have NFC chips in them? I was under the impression that is why they can only be used with Apple Pay through apps with Touch ID and can't be used for Apple Pay in stores.

I just updated to 8.1 and it doesn't even have an option to add a credit card. If iPhone 5s has Touch ID and the new iPads don't have NFC, does anyone know if there is a reason it won't be allowed on the 5s? It looks like the 5s and iPad mini 3 have the same processor and Bluetooth technology as far as I can tell.
 
Apple Pay worked great in McDonald's today.

Went to try it out and asked them if it was working. The employee said, "don't know, try it".

Opened Passbook, selected my credit card, used the Touch ID to pay and it worked!!!

Used this today already, worked so smoothly I was standing there in aww like I was supposed to do something else. I also used it at a store not listed here, so for all the people always asking if it'll work on other NFC machines, it will and it will work great!

Wow really never had an issue with Google Wallet....but I am happy for all you isheeps out there....took a yr for you guys to get what I got last yr.......

It looks like it won't arrive here until next year. Visa has said it's working with Apple to bring Apple Pay to Europe in 2015.

According to V3, the company has not yet confirmed a date for the European rollout of Apple Pay, but Pedro Sousa, head of contactless and mobile payment for Visa, said the service will reach Europe next year. So that's something.

In any case, those banks and almost all of the companies mentioned above are international operations, and it should be relatively easy to bring Apple Pay across the pond if it proves successful in the US. Eddie Cue said Apple is "working hard to bring it to even more countries". ("Even more"? Even more than one? Hmmm.)

AppleInsider reports that a deal has been struck to bring Apple Pay to China, too.

I don't remember an opening passbook I just held it to the NFC terminal and scanned my print, pushed yes for the amount, and and put my John Hancock in the signature box
