I guess it's bad when Android takes concepts and features from iOS, but totally fine when iOS takes them from Android.

BECAUSE THATS INNOVATION!!! :apple:

Still trying to find these people who are saying this is innovation? Don't think anyone has said this is innovation. Matter of fact it seems most have actually said something along the lines of: "Finally! It's about time Apple!"

But I wouldn't expect Android people to read or comprehend that. :) :p
(I was just joking there..I know how easy it has been to set people off lately...)

no need to list anything past swiftkey.

best for android. will be best for ios as well. so happy with todays updates :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Although I feel extremely uncomfortable for allowing full access to SwiftKey, a brief try of the swiping gesture really surprised me for its accuracy. It's a pity that I must allow full access to use the keyboard.

LOVE SwiftKey. It seems quite battery heavy at the moment, 21% of my battery usage in the last seven hours. But I guess that's to be expected. You use keyboards a lot lol.

1. Activate 3rd Party Keyboard.
2. Send someone a text message - click to go home after sending.
3. Wait for them to respond.
4. Click on Messages App.
5. See full screen, wait a second, and then see 3rd party keyboard, displayed OVER your newly received text message.

Is that just me, or anyone else?

Nope, I get that too. It's almost like it's not recognizing that there's a keyboard there.

Swype is great. You can swipe, obviously, and it allows whether you're using the lower case or upper case right on the keyboard. But the best feature for me is the long press shortcut to number and punctuation which making it much more convenient to write on a smartphone.

Really, the only reason I even want a 3rd party keyboard, is so I can theme it and make it dark. SwiftKey for iOS, however, was not the answer. It's great on my Android device but, there are too many diffeences in iOS. It doesn't feel like the same app. Very disappointed. Like someone else stated, it is NOT system wide. SwiftKey does NOT work in messaging quick reply. Also, there are no sound effects. Apple's refusal to allow haptic feedback is beyond me so, I need the clicks. Not there and no apparant way to turn them on with SwiftKey.

All I really want is to make the stock iOS keyboard dark...all the time. Hmm. Guess I'll have to wait for an iOS 8 jailbreak.

Swype has both light and dark key boards.

I still find Swype useless on the iPhone, but it seems to be ok on my iPad mini.

Is it secure to allow Fleksy for access? I don't think they'll be sending my passwords etc... But has anyone tried tapping into their network packages?

OMG!! Yes, thank goodness I'm not the only one having this issue. Hate the period placement.

----------

That would be really cool for 5s, but I think if you upgrade 6 ,might not be the best.

----------

That's so weird. One thing I noticed which I thought was weird is that any passwords pull up the apple keyboard (which makes sense so that passwords aren't stored in the thirdparty keyboard db)

----------

LOL. Amazing...

Remember FITALY? I missed that keyboard on wino 5 & 6. Best for stylus, not sure about finger input.

I'm hoping they offer the FITALY keyboard for iOS. I first used it on a Palm Pilot.

Am I the only one creeped put by SwiftKeys Allow Full Access toggle? This is a no go for me. If it's accessing network -> see also: Battery Life.

Swipe is working quite great though.

Upon choosing the password field the keyboard switches back to default apple keyboard even if the default keyboard was deleted in the preferences

I just installed fleksy and swipe. I've gone in the app to take the tutorial and I've gone in settings, general, keyboard to add them. They say they're added but when I click on the globe key and select fleksy or swipe, the keyboard area disappears and I cannot use it as a keyboard. Even inside the fleksy and swipe app I cannot use it. In order to get back to a keyboard, I've got to go into settings and delete these two keyboards then go into my texting app to find the default one available again.

Does someone have a fix for this. I originally had beta installed but I just installed the latest iOS8 around 12 pm mountain time before attempting to install these keyboards so it doesn't seem like I should have any problem. I've tried restarting and everything.

Please help if you can. thanks!

Did you give FULL ACCESS to at least Fleksy? You have to go to Settings>General> Keyboard>Keyboards>Fleksy and then turn on "Allow Full Access".

This is the same for Swiftkey. It needs to be turned on. As for Swype it's not needed.

Oh another important feature with iOS 8 is you can set the default keyboard! Go to Settings>General>Keyboard>Keyboards and choose Edit from the top right of the screen. You can then rearrange your keyboards in order of preference and have your preferred one as the default. iOS 8 ROCKS!

swiftkey only works if you send them your keystrokes. No thanks!!!
That's probably why it's free. No thanks is right. People gripe about spending $.99 really?
Deleted the app right away after finding out this. I was wondering why the keyboard didn't pop up!

Can you show me where you're getting this information from, as I can't see any reference to it.

The only thing I can find is that you have to "Enable Full Access" to allow text prediction, but this is allowing the keyboard extension to access the index of previously typed words stored within iOS, there's no reference I can see to sending keystrokes to the developer.

Does it say somewhere that it sends keystrokes, or are people just misunderstanding what Enable Full Access is about?
