I tried the British English voice for awhile just for fun and found that it mangles pronunciations of American English place names and didn't seem to understand my American English queries as well either. It turns out Apple localized these Siri voices for a good reason.
I haven't had an issue with the pronunciations but it definitely uses different word choices. At one point it had trouble understanding me and I realized that I set to also listen for Australian (instead of just speaking Australian). Once I changed it back to listen for US English, the understanding problems disappeared.

The title of this article is misleading. Only about 2% of the video was demonstrating the voice. Let's hear a side-by-side comparison with the current Siri, reading much longer phrases.

Last time Apple tried to blame microphone technology. I used my Mac with an expensive microphone still Siri sucks! So this time they they kinda admitted that Siri is just sucks and needs to keep up with Google? Well played Apple!

If you've had trouble with Siri across multiple devices, then the common factors are you and possibly your internet connection. Have you considered that? Honest question because I use Siri all the time, and she understands nearly all of my queries correctly.

The cosmetic/aesthetic changes are nice, but it's still hit or miss with understanding spoken queries. I always wonder how my Xfinity remote control can have 100% comprehension of everything I mumble at it when Siri is maybe 50/50.

I'm British and I actually get on better with American English when it comes to Siri.

Guess where this animation is going to be under in the new iPhone 8?

Siri is server based and not iOS based. Sometimes the responses are accurate and other times it's not. But in any case, I see Apple working very diligently to have Siri ready by iOS 11 and for the Home Pod. It's their time to bring Siri the necessary changes it ultimately needs.

Geesh. He/She still speaks like the annoyingly perky and patronizing "Nina" character in the movie Office Space.

I switched to the male voice (US). Don’t really like the new female voice. I do like the male one though, sounds more natural.
I switched to male Siri a long time ago. The female Siri was too judgemental for me. I couldn't stand the disappointment in her voice. Ok, she wasn't as judgmental as my old garmin gps unit, but still...

The female voice sounds a lot more natural. When I heard the male voice at the conference, it sounded like Watson from the Jeopardy challenge and I thought it was still pretty robotic, but from the clip in this video, it sounded natural and not Watson-like.

I tested this for the first time last night after installing iOS 11 on my 10.5" iPad Pro. I asked Siri to tell me a joke in iOS 10 on my iPhone, and then in iOS 11 on the iPad. I'm not sure if it's because of the query being a joke, but I feel like the new Siri lacks the personality and warmth of the old Siri. The new one just sounded more robotic to me. I need to test it some more, as I was mainly interesting in playing around with multitasking and the Apple Pencil which I haven't used much before now, but so far I don't really care much for the new voice. Anyone else feel the same?

Wonder if that is maybe just temporary?

But like this is just for the American voices.

The Australian voice still pronounces voila and voy-la. Why have such an out of the norm word if you can’t even say it.

The best addition Apple could make to their new OS is to delete Siri (ie. not just disable it, but completely wipe everything Siri-related off the OS).

We ask Apple to make Siri understand us better. Solution: "Type to Siri."

Tim, you are truly genius.
