Anyone else have my dream for the "iPhone: Resiliance Edition" that weighs twice as much, is twice as thick, armored like a Nokia from back in the day to be fall-proof and has a one week battery life?

Yeah, I know, it would take a belt clip AND suspenders to wear it but think about that battery life...

I wouldn't see why anybody with a Max would jump on this. But imagine if you will those of us that have been on the same style phone sense the 6 Plus was launched. I am on an 8 plus but have went through the same exact style of the phone for all that time plus waiting out the past two years. This is the year for people like me.

I am upgrading from a XS Max.I always get a new iPhone every year.I can afford it so why not?

I have the XR....I refuse to pay $1K or more for a phone...Just can't do it - And it's not affordability thing, it's just dumb IMO...To each their own...

I may upgrade to the "new XR" for the dual lenses. I miss portrait mode for things other than just faces.

I can afford it as well. However in the past when I have updated each year I have felt I ended up with basically the same phone. Now I wait it out and buy shares of AAPL with the money I don''t spend on the years I don't buy. This enables me to abstain from buying, enjoy the excitement of the keynote and gives me something that is a better value for my money.

Actually form factor has been largely the same for the past 5 years (2014-2019)

I noticed that form factor... rectangular design, a front and a back. No innovation at all.
