Live 2019 iPhone Event Coverage: 'By Innovation Only'

I’m kinda sad that the excitement for preordering is not really there anymore. It was so fun and felt like Christmas back then.

I was going to get the new iPhone and my husband was going to take my XS because his 7 plus is showing its age, but ehh we’ve decided to wait

Too right. Getting sick of this sickly sweet we do everything for our customers bullspit. Money is all they desire.

Yep. That sentiment, that they repeat over and over, grates on me harder than a rusty chisel. They 'care' so deeply for their customers, except the moment you decide to stop upgrading to their latest products, then they will laugh at your outdated tech and drop you faster than a fat kid on a see-saw. (Remember the '5 year old laptop comment? SMH).

It's OK for Apple to want to make money, that's what companies/corporations do, but they should dial down the 'we do everything for the good of our customers' drivel. If that was really the case they would listen more to the feedback that folks throw their way. In the end, Apple does what Apple wants, and you'll like it darn it. :)

I’m happy you found the 3s, 4s, 5s, 5c, 6s, SE, 7 and 8 launches mind blowing.

3s? I must have missed that model.

4s introduced Siri. 5s introduced touchID. 6s introduced 3D touch, live photos, and hey Siri.

5c and SE were specific low cost models not meant to bring out new features.

Funny how you seem to think 6s, 7, and 8 (3 consecutive model) were all s releases. I guess that shows even you think Apple innovation has stopped.

Xs was an s release. 11 is supposed to be the next major release in their tick-tock. I guess you realize on some level Apple isn't doing major release at all anymore and hasn't since the 6 and then X.

Increasing the clock speed of the CPU alone doesn't necessarily NOT increase the performance either.

As a hypothetical, that's a fine argument.

But this isn't hypothetical. It's a thing that actually happened, and even at the time as it was happening, everyone knew that Intel's approach only worked to produce bigger and bigger numbers for the marketing department to push.

That’s not much different from the US price after you factor in VAT.

There's also EU import duties on all these products. Apple used to detail the amounts these added to the cost, but they stopped doing it once iPods became a thing of the past.

Pro comment, by the way.
I changed, well I still have it, my 6S to the XR, it’s a big upgrade in all aspects including the size, which is also a bit of a downgrade.

Yeah, I run a Pixel 3 XL as my main driver. I won't go that big again, it's a pain.

I am one of the seemingly few who would like the Samsung fold to work, as sometimes I'd like some more real estate. Not at that price and level of thickness though.

If you're a camera person, then the 11 might excite you. But after that...
I think most people who have a strong interest in photography will most likely be meh toward this release. Now, maybe when Apple releases the iPhone 12 Pro/Pro Max next year with a 4th camera lens that handles time of flight, that may be a different story?

By the time the iPhone 11 ships, the pound will drop against the dollar even more.

They do have to factor this into the pricing. Expectations are the pound will go much lower if the government gets what it wants with Brexit, which atm is a big question mark. Apple though has to go with the negative sentiment to set a price they are comfortable with.

I can't even tell you how disappointed i am right now. There is nothing about those phones that make me want to get them. Except for the Camera Night Mode. I mean, the iPhone 11 is nice, sure. Worth it i guess if you want an iPhone and you don't have one. But for the Pro? Zero interest. It doesn't even look good.

And i thought last year was worse... when i look at this line-up i want the Xs / Xs Max back. Atleast they didn't raised the prices.

Oh, and that "By innovation only." Are you kidding me Apple? It's meant to be ironic, right?

WTF, my XS is not even a year old, about €1150 10 months ago, shiver and shake looking at the screenshot below...

€390...WHAT

A total joke Apple
All Apple cares about is how to milk more money out of their customers. €390 is a joke - this is just admitting that even Apple themselves don't value their own products as high as they sold them. Better off selling it privately

Samsung announced the Fold will have all the major app players on board at launch - Microsoft, Adobe, etc. I tried a Note 10 Plus and, I am sad to say, for the first time in 12 years, I am using the Note as my main phone.Previously, I upgraded my iPhone every single year. But not this time, that's how underwhelming this new iPhone is. If you are buying a new phone, it is top notch. But as an upgrader, the 11/Pro Max is very light on changes, but added $200-$300 to the price tag.

Where's mah new Apple TV?
Maybe next month or more likely next year. While I don’t use my current 4th generation ATV nearly as much as my Roku Ultra (4K), I definitely would like to replace my current Apple TV to a 4K version with a more powerful A12 or A13.

I bet that 90% of the posters here complaining would be giddy as hell if the new phones had the exact same hardware in a different body case.

I’m on a 6s, I think this is the year I’ll finally get around to upgrading.

Apple, what's with all of the kiddie videos ?

Why not just list the essential 'new' device(s) changes and pricing, would take all of about five minutes...oh, forgot, it's about innovation.

6s to 11/Pro makes sense. But from X or XS? Not as much.
