What if you're someone, like me, who can't shell out $200 on a contract for the 5S but doesn't want a cheap plastic phone in, frankly hideous, colors? I just wanted a nice, metal, black iPhone. The iPhone 5 fit that bill perfectly if the price dropped. Now I either have to stumble across a ton of money for the 5S or be stuck with a plastic iPhone.

The case is pretty horrible. The circle cut outs going down the back looks ridiculous and all sorts of dust, hair, etc. is going to get caught in there.

The 5C is essentially going where the 5 would have been slotted. It's the new mid-range iPhone. Apple isn't releasing a "cheap" device.
