I'm getting tired of the media meme that Apple created the 5C so they could sell it in China and India. I'm sure that's part of it, but it's no doubt more than a "third-world phone," and they expect to sell plenty of them in the first world, too.

More like a way to offer competitive selection to other phones with more than B&W colors, less expensive (to compete) and a way to still maintain their premier phone image by not competing on those levels.
