So why they didn't update the megapixals??

Because megapixels are a useless number. The sensor is 15% bigger. That's way more important to image quality than the number of megapixels.

Megapixels only matter if you want to print your photos to paper.

No harm in posting twice.

Are you gonna post the same thing six times?

So all I'm taking away from this so far is the new phone is going to be faster than the first phone they ever made.

APPLE Nailed it....

In fairness...all they have done is FINALLY caught up. Look at the competition. Slowmo, Dual Flash, better photo sensor...all these things have been on their competitors phones for a long, long time now.

So the camera is much better, the processor is much better, and they added fugly colors, and took away slate.

2 steps forward, 1 step back.

ok if these pictures are actually possible with released tech and not photo-shopped massively then we may be ok

So why they didn't update the megapixals??
Because nobody needs more than 8mp unless they plan to print out a giant poster.

Megapixels are UTTERLY MEANINGLESS as a measure of photo quality.

Analogue film has a resolution equivalent to 20-30mp but if you put it in a crappy point-and-shoot camera you still get crappy pictures.

What matters is the quality of the optics, the size of the aperture and the level of noise in the sensor.

All that upping the megapixel count does is give you stupidly huge image files.

Seriously, I have 10 x 8 photos on my wall that were taken with a 2mp Olympus camera in 2002 and they look great, because it had a good quality lens.

as n a long time within the past year or after the iphone 5 release

"Unfortunately, some people find that's too cumbersome." Apple says that about half of smartphone users don't bother.

How do they know this?
